How unfortunate. And here I thought I was going to heaven when I die. Satan was here too which meant I was in hell. I didn’t know my personality sucked that much when I was alive.
I didn’t care how he died, but wasn’t there supposed to be a place lower than this? A lower hell or something? No, he ought to be in the lowest of hell. We shouldn’t be in the same rank, in the same place. I had a more decent personality than this bastard. Then I remembered that since he was Satan, he was probably ruling this place too, damn it.
Because of Satan here, all my hopes of being with dad were now gone.
Besides, why was his face so close to mine? Was he here to taunt me again?
My eyes watered. Even in death, must I suffer too?
How was it possible that all of me still hurt? Couldn’t the goddess give me a break?
‘Ari…”
I blinked. It was the first time Satan called me by my name. Was that desperation I heard in his voice?
His tone was unbelievably soft when he spoke, “Drink my blood, Ari. Please. It will help you heal. When you are feeling better, you can curse me and hit me. You can do whatever you want. For now, just stay with me, okay? Don’t fall asleep. Don’t close your eyes. And take my blood.”
I was still alive then?
Why?
Somehow, the thought that I still made it was more heartbreaking than anything. What was worse was that Satan was with ne. Why was he here? We were no longer in a classroom and yet, he still had so many commands.
But was that tear falling down his cheek? So, devils could cry too?
Satan slit his palm and offered me his blood. I did hear that mates could heal each other. But I didn’t want to heal. I didn’t vant to live. I didn’t want to see him again.
was done with this life. I was done with them all.
All I asked for was a long, uninterrupted sleep.
‘Please, Ari.”
‘N-no. N-never.”
I would rather die than take anything from him. I closed my eyes and felt him tremble. In my drowsy state, I became aware that I was in his arms. But then I heard someone else call my name, the sound was so familiar that I forced my eyes to open.
I sobbed.
Behind Satan stood my angel, the man I yearned to see.
My dad.

He smiled back and reached out a hand, and I found myself lifting my hand. It was not easy. It felt like my bone was breaking all over again. My arm felt heavier than before. But there was nothing I wouldn’t do for dad.
He took my hand. “Are you tired?”
Tears filled my eyes. “S-so tired.”
“Do you want to come with me?”
That was my dream for the longest time now. I would go anywhere with him, with the only person who truly loved me.
I nodded. “Y-yes, please. T-take me with you, dad. L-let’s go?”
(Bradley)
After a century and nearly two decades of existing, I was fully convinced that I had seen all the things this planet had to offer. I traveled. I had been in every realm. In every country. In every wonder of the world. That was the dragon’s obsession, constantly chasing the most beautiful thing, flying towards it.
A hundred and sixteen years of living halfheartedly and today was the first time I saw something so perfect that it nearly blinded me, that it shattered something within me.
It was Ari’s smile.
Her pale lips curved exquisitely, taking my breath away.
