Claimed by the Biker Giant (Maxine and Tank) novel Chapter 225

Cloe POV

Laughing and giggling.

It took a few moments to remember where I was, because I never woke to that sound, like ever. Dad or my sister would be yelling at me to start cooking, or calling out where their clean clothes were, never giggling and laughing. Not unless we have visitors, but why would we have visitors first thing in the morning?

I lay there with my eyes closed and listened to those in the room.

The deep voice of Storm, which gives me warm feelings, some girls giggled, which made me feel jealous, and another that sounds like Storm but isn’t, not sure how I know that, maybe it was Tank. No, it’s not Tank. They are talking about the show and shine and which bikes or cars they liked; it sounds like they had a good time. They changed the conversation to Storm’s birthday party. I don’t know how old he is, but it sounded like they all had fun, playing pranks on each other. Not able to lie there any longer, without seeing who was in the room, I was surprised to find a lot of people in here; the room was crowded. Flowers and get-well-soon balloons filled every space they could find. A tear leaked out of my eye as I fought my emotions. This was a huge surprise.

“Hey, sleepy head.” Storm was at my side the moment I opened one eye, like he must have been watching me all the time.

“Water.” I croaked out, trying to sit up. The light shining into the room told me I had slept all night, as it was late afternoon when I last awoke, and then I was filled with devastating news. I have yet to see my legs, or what’s left of them.

Storm used the device to raise the bed to a sitting position and started the introductions; most were family or close friends. To have so many in the family, and all getting along, was amazing, then all those friends, I am speechless. Like I didn’t have one, not one, if I made a friend at school, they soon dumped me, when my sister cornered them. My brother was my only family member who seemed to care for me, till was he abandoned me, leaving me in that hellhole. He never once contacted me after he left.

The people in my room kept saying hello, as Storm fussed about and tried to include me in their conversation. They mentioned my Dad’s exhibit; some liked it, others thought it was over the top, and the girl draped over the car spoiled it. I chuckled when I heard that. I was right one that looked just like Storm “Hey, did you just laugh?” A girl asked with a big smile.

“I guess, I did. Didn’t you like the girl? Or that she was trying to be part of the display?” I looked at the girl who had spoken to me, and had already forgotten her name.

“The girl was way over the top. When she leaned back on the hood of the car, one time, and you could see that she was wearing no panties; it was gross.” She made this expression like she was going to puke, and that had me giggling again. Make the girl’s eyes light up at the sound.

The doctor and nurse Dotty arrived, and the doctor seemed annoyed at the volume of people in the room.

“Out, I wish to check her bandages.” The doctor barked a goodbye, and with a wave, they left promptly, promising to visit again soon.

“You too.” The doctor ordered Storm out.

“No, he stays,” I shouted out, as panic started to rise in me. Why? I don’t know exactly, but I do know that, for some reason, Storm makes me feel safe.

Storm stayed by me, holding my hand, as they lifted the end of the blanket, keeping what they were going to do out of sight.

“Not, today, a body wash, maybe tomorrow when we remove the drains.” The doctor waited for a response,

and when all I gave her was a nod, she smiled and left me with Storm and the nurse.

“Are you up to sitting on that chair, while I strip the bed, and give you clean sheets. Or want to stay and be rolled about?” She nodded to the armchair that Storm often sits on.

“Chair. Would be okay.” I replied, and before I could argue, I was in Storm’s arms. I squealed in surprise and felt dizzy for a moment as he carried me to the chair, the back of this hospital gown, exposing my back to the cold air, and I was glad no one else was in the room to see me like this, before Storm sat down with me on his lap. Holding me close to his warm chest and trying not to harm my stumps. I was so full of painkillers that I doubt he could cause me pain, but it was a little awkward, with my legs looking out of place. I tried to swallow the mixed emotions swirling around inside. I stared at my legs. I thought I could still feel my feet when I was in bed, and doubted them when they said they were gone.

“Cloe, you will feel phantom pain in your legs, and think you can feel them. It’s called muscle memory; the body still thinks you have the legs. Storm will love to be your legs, till you can move around on your own. He’s more than capable of carrying you.” She wiggled her eyebrows at me, and I wondered what I had gotten myself into when Storm saved me.

We sat in silence, and Dotty changed the bed, grabbed some warm water, a cloth, and didn’t even blink when she leaned in and removed my hospital gown, right there while I was still on Storm’s lap, and started to wash my arms, chest, thighs, and moved so she could do my back, and embarrassingly, my bottom and crotch. I felt like a baby too weak to argue, and it was my first time naked in front of a man, other than the doctors. I was lost in a sea of confusion; they acted like this was a normal thing to do, but I have never had this much attention on me, in my life, visitors, flowers, and cuddles.

I will try not to get used to all this kindness, as it will hurt when I have to leave.
