Claimed by the Biker Giant (Maxine and Tank) novel Chapter 287

Tempest POV

I was feeling lazy today, woke up and thought bugger it, can’t be bothered, for no real reason, I wasn’t in pain, or anything like that, just flat. No get-up-and-go, think it stayed in bed. Where I feel I should have stayed and slept a few more hours. It was late by the time we went to bed, talking, laughing, and having a good time, and time just slipped by fast.

But I had to keep moving. My Dad said sleeping in was for the dead, but it was okay for him to sleep in, and my sister, but not me. At least he’s not here to growl at me. I am so lucky that Storm took me in and gave me a life, one I could only dream of. I can see it in his eyes that he cares deeply for me. It’s in his eyes; they soften each time he looks at me.

The clubhouse was quiet, as expected for this time of day. Most don’t live here, and the few who do would be working, either on the club grounds or at an outside job. I had learned some of this from Storm, from the other club; he was trying to teach me his lifestyle in the early days together. He so desperately wanted me to fit in and like the style, which was his life. I am unsure how he would have reacted if I said I didn’t like the lifestyle; would he have left me? I don’t want to pursue that thought; it makes me sad.

Two women were in the kitchens, talking over a cup of coffee.

“Morning,” I call out as I enter. The area wasn’t suitable for my wheelchair, so I can’t see myself doing much in here unless we make some doable changes.

“Oh, you are Tempest, Storm’s our new President’s woman.”

“That I am, I know, Wrench, you are Jip the VP’s woman, but I am unfamiliar with you.”

“I am Scarcrow, you would have met my man, the enforcer Screwloose.” I chuckled at the two names; it suits them.

“Nice to meet you.” Before I could ask questions, a coffee was placed in front of me.

“Thanks, I am here to check out what needs to be done in the kitchen. We are looking at refurbishing the clubhouse, and as the men work on their needs, I thought I’d come and see what the ladies need.” I smiled as I took a sip of coffee and was surprised to find it was how I like it.

“We need a new fridge, dishwasher, washing machine, dryer, more dishes, cutlery, oven, the best thing you could do would be to knock this building down and start again.” Scarscrow flippantly responded.

“That’s all?” I asked, not seeing what needs doing that badly, the building was sound, no need to knock it down, from what I had seen and heard.

“No, the floor needs tearing up and relaying. Cupboards are falling apart.” Wrench opened one to demonstrate the door coming off its hinges, but I didn’t flinch at what needed to be done.

“What about the bathrooms, are they working fine?”

“No, we need a plumber, and the septic system needs pumping.”

“How about we get a portable kitchen in, while we work on the kitchen renovation? Can you handle working in one of those?”

“Yep, no issue, it’s still warm enough for meals to be eaten outside, and only Saturday do we have a larger crowd, during the week, there are not that many that pop by,” Scarcrow replied, still not believing anything would be done.

“Thank you, and thanks for the coffee.” I rolled back out of the kitchen and headed to the laundry to check out the machines. The place looked terrible; the whole room needed some work, the moisture had gotten into the wood, and the flooring was disgusting.

Made it back into the clubhouse to find Storm sitting at a table, a girl so close she was practically draped over him. He wasn’t the only one with a girl around the men at the table, but they were too deep in discussion, and two men I didn’t know but assumed were Scruffy and Bullet, both taking notes.

I rolled over to them, and literally with all my effort, pushed the girl off the back of Storm’s chair, and she went flying, landing on her backside, and screaming better than any two-year-old’s tantrum.

The table of men all burst out laughing at the scene.

“Babe, what’s the matter?” Storm asked, confused.
