Chapter 338

Skunk POV

Pip had packed an overnight bag for her and Dan.

I was going to miss them.

In more ways than one.

Last night was amazing. Pip wanted to remove the memory of how Dan was conceived, and I

wanted to ensure she reaches ecstasy more than once. My girl surprised me with how responsive

she was. I can’t wait to do it again. It is getting hard again just thinking about it.

We left home.

HOME

That had a nice ring to it, home. Never really thought that deep before, but yeah, that cottage is now my, no, our home. Pip will ensure it becomes a comfortable, cozy place, and having her there with me means more to me than I ever dreamed possible. I get it now, what Storm and Doom were saying about having a woman of your own. They are right, I haven’t even had the ceremony yet, and I am a believer. The small things around the cottage, toys, throw rugs on the back of the chair, her soft perfume in the air, Dan’s giggles. Yeah, all the sights, smells and sounds of home. Makes me all warm inside.

Toddy, our electrician, came rushing over to me. Before we entered the clubhouse, I sent Pip and Dan on, while I talked business, thinking he had a wiring job that might have some work for me,

too.

“Word is you have moved out of that cottage, and the carriage is up for rent. Can I rent it off you?” Toddy was excited, having been in my carriage more than once, helping me get it wired up.

“Sure.” We negotiated a price, shook hands, gave him the keys, and watched him rush inside to get his belongings. He had a room out back, where several members lived. He had talked about moving out for some space of his own a few times and had hinted that if ever the carriage came up for rent, think of him first. I was so busy getting my family sorted that I hadn’t thought of what I was going to do with the carriage yet. Other than renting it out, I had forgotten about Toddy’s offer.

Things were falling into place, and it felt right.

The worry and panic that I was doing something wrong, gnawing in the back of my mind since I put my hand up to take on Dan and Pip, dissolved into nothing, gone, a sense of relief and acceptance took its place, and now I am getting more excited for tomorrow about making them mine, legally.
