Chapter 116
I was in a shitty mood the next day, and the fact that I was running on hell with no release did not help. I did try, or did I not try? I tried to get myself off, and it didn’t work. It just didn’t.
And because I was kind of crazy and kind of didn’ care anymore, I did what I should’ve done, I guess, since I first came into this house. I went online and ordered sex toys. Yeah, I know. The goods would have to go through screening, and then Maria would have to pick them up and hand them to me. A lot of hands, and a lot of awkwardness, but I didn’t care.
I knew he was going to get a call about it. I mean, everything that comes into this house probably goes through him. I’m using his card. He’s going to see my little purchase.
Let’s just say I was daring. Or maybe stupid. Or both.
So that’s exactly what I did. When I woke up, it was the first thought on my mind. I placed the order online and went on with my day like I didn’t just do the boldest, most insane thing ever.
The prize came faster than I thought. Around one, Maria went to pick up the parcel and brought it to me herself. She gave me this curious, slightly amused look, but didn’t say anything. Though I’m sure she read the label.
I didn’t mind. I just smiled sweetly, took the box to my room, no way I was letting Victor see that… and then came back downstairs. The rest of the day actually went on… nicely.
That is, of course, until around four in the evening when I was in Victor’s bedroom. We were just hanging out, talking about random things, laughing a bit.
And then Maria came in.
“You have guests,” she said.
I frowned. “Guests?”
“Yes.”
“Is Asher with them? Luca?”
She shook her head. “No.”
“Then who is it?” I asked.
She hesitated a little, then said, “It’s a woman… A middle-aged woman and an old man.”
She said it was a middle-aged woman and an elder man.
I frowned. Could it be my parents? But no-my mom isn’t a middle-aged woman. Something didn’t feel right.
“Alright,” I said, brushing it off for now. I leaned in, gave Victor a soft kiss, and told him to stay in the room. “You never know, maybe they’re Asher’s guests.”

Then I left, walking down the stairs, my mind buzzing with curiosity.
As I entered the sitting room, my eyes landed on the two strangers. The woman was a little plump, short, and neatly dressed with her hair tied up in a painfully tight knot. Beside her stood an older man, a little hunched, holding what looked like… a medical bag?
Before I could even finish piecing my thoughts together, the woman stepped forward.
“Hello, Miss Ariella,” she said with a practised smile.
“Yes, hello?” I replied, wary.
“My name is Anna, and this is Dr. Will.”
“Yes… hello. Thank you. Welcome,” I mumbled, still unsure what was happening. “Would you like to take a seat?”
“I don’t think that will be necessary,” she said quickly. “If you would be kind enough to show us to your bedroom, or perhaps a guest room you’re comfortable with.”
I blinked. “Excuse me? I’m sorry, what is this about?”
“We thought you were expecting us,” she said politely, glancing at the doctor.
“You thought I was expecting you?” I repeated, my tone sharper. “I’m sorry, nobody told me anything. What is going on?”
She cleared her throat, stepping aside slightly so the doctor could speak.
Dr. Will adjusted his glasses and looked at me with clinical calm. “We’re here on Mr. Romano’s orders. We’re here to perform a routine gynaecological and sexual health check.”
I widened my eyes at both of them. They can’t be serious, I thought; shaking my head.
“weren’t you expecting us?” the woman asked again, glancing toward the doctor.
They exchanged a look, and this time it was the man who spoke.
“Whatever the case, we’re just here to do the check-up. So please, show us to the room so we can get the tests back to the lab.”
The only thing going through my head was: What?
I mean… what?
“I’m sorry,” I said firmly, “I’ll need to talk to Mr. Romano.”
“Of course, take your time,” the doctor replied calmly.
They both sat down like they had all the time in the world, and I turned on my heel and stormed out of the living room, my blood boiling

I found Maria and snapped, “Call Asher.”
“I don’t have his number,” she said quickly.
“Then call whoever you want to call but I need to speak to him. Now.”
She dialled and handed me the phone.
