Claimed By The Mafia Don (Ariella and Asher) novel Chapter 138

Chapter 138

I felt a warm blush crawl up my face.

“Are you… are you going to work in that?” I asked, trying to sound casual but failing miserably.

He glanced down at himself, white t-shirt, and grey sweatpants and shrugged.

“That’s what I’m wearing.”

I bit my lip, smirking. “Well, you’re going to leave a lot of women speechless.”

His eyes glinted as he looked at me. “Are you speechless? Because you can’t stop talking.” He laughed, soft and low.

“Well, then I guess you’ll be the fantasy of all those women today. They’re going to have a hard time concentrating… depending on what they do,” I said, rolling my eyes.

He grinned, walking slowly toward me. “I just want one person to be distracted. Just one. So distracted they have no idea what to do with themselves.”

I groaned and covered my face with both hands, trying to hide my smile. “Seriously? You’re really going to leave like that?”

He stepped closer, voice lower. “Seems like you really like me this way. I think this might be my new go-to outfit when I’m here.”

I laughed, shaking my head. “I also like you in your suits. They’re very gentlemanly. Clas Very, very… you.”

He arched a brow. “Yes, you do. What else?”

I bit my lip again. “I also like when you wear jeans.”

“Go on,” he said, a little smirk playing on his lips

I blushed again. “I…” I paused.

“Go on, …. get out of here! I need to take a shower.”

“Want some company in there?” He asked with a wink.

“I can’t trust you and I need some food inside me” I said, giving him a mock glare. “You used all my energy last night.”

He looked at me, and there was something soft in his gaze.

“Then why don’t we have breakfast up here? Just you and me?”

That stunned me. I blinked. “You want… breakfast? Together?”

“Yeah,” he said easily. “Is that a problem?”

“No. No, I just… I….. okay. Okay, let me shower first.”

“All right,” he said, clearly amused.

As I passed him on my way to the bathroom, he swatted my ass.

“Hey!” I scowled at him and dashed away while he laughed behind me.

And in that moment, I thought maybe the best thing about being a prisoner here… was that he was the one holding the key.

I took a quick shower, drying off in a rush, my heart still humming from the morning. As I walked out, he was on the phone, lounging on the bed, laughing softly at something someone had said. I ran past him without a word, grinning to myself.

In the master bedroom, I chose a dress… something sexy, something I wouldn’t normally wear unless I was going out. I usually lived in tights and sweaters, or jeans and t-shirts, but today felt different. I did a full face of makeup, top, even though I usually saved that for the nights I expected him. But today, I wanted to feel beautiful in the daylight.

“I just want to make Asher breakfast,” I said, avoiding eye contact.

“He’s here?” She asked, her posture getting rigid.

I gave a small nod. She then looked at Leon. “Come on, sweetheart. Finish up quickly. I have a new toy I want to show you in your room.”

I didn’t think much of it at first. I just assumed she was giving me space, letting me cook in peace without their interference.

But then I remembered, her quick glance toward Leon, the way she ushered him away the moment I said Asher’s name.

Because my two worlds could never meet.

Leon could never meet his father. And Asher could never know about his son.

Maria knew Asher was upstairs. She knew the rule: keep them apart. Always. Was it Asher or Luca who gave her the rule? I wondered.

And me? I was still dazed from last night. So caught up in the magic of being dicked with Asher, of having him stay, that I forgot, forgot about the boundaries, the warnings, the danger.

I was still a mess. My life was a mess. Even here, even inside this golden cage, I was broken in places no one could see. And for a second… just one fragile, desperate second, I thought about going upstairs and telling him everything.

‘Asher, this is your son. You have to see him. You deserve to know.’

I could almost hear myself saying it. I could feel the weight lifting. But then Luca’s voice echoed in my mind. His warning,

I didn’t know why Luca didn’t want Asher to know. I didn’t understand it. But the fear he planted in me, that something terrible could happen if I told him, kept me frozen.

Still, sometimes, it’s right there on the tip of my tongue. So close….. Sometimes, I wonder how much longer I can keep it in.
