Chapter 141

The door burst open with a violent slam that echoed through the room like a shot. I stumbled back, my heart leaping to my throat as five or six men in dark clothes stormed in like a sudden storm. Their invasion was silent, coordinated and dangerous.

One of them, clearly their leader, stepped forward with a sick kind of calm. He smiled.

“Well, well,” he said, eyes glinting with something that chilled me to my bones. “I’ve been very eager to meet you.”

I froze.

What was happening?

Who were they?

Why were they here?

My breath caught in my chest. My pulse thundered in my ears.

“Who are you?” I asked, my voice trembling despite my effort to sound strong.

He ignored the question. “Is there anyone else in the house?”

I swallowed hard. “No. It’s just me.”

His eyes didn’t move from mine, but he snapped his fingers. Two men split off immediately heading down the hallway like shadows on a mission.

Please don’t find them. Please don’t find them.

Moments later, they returned, one of them nodding. “Clear.”

He pulled out a chair with slow ease and sat down legs spread, elbows resting casually on his thighs like he had all the time in the world.

“Are you feeling comfortable?” he asked, mockingly.

I swallowed the lump in my throat. “Yeah… I’m okay.”

“Sit down,”

His voice was sharp this time. Commanding. No space left for hesitation.

I obeyed, lowering myself onto the nearest chair. My knees were weak, my fingers clenched tightly in my lap. I glanced around. Six men behind him. Maybe seven including him. I couldn’t be sure anymore, my mind was spinning too fast.

“Look at me,” he ordered. “I’m the one in charge here.”

I nodded, slowly raising my eyes to meet his, He stared at me with this unsettling intensity,

like he was trying to peel me apart, layer by layer. His eyes didn’t just look, they studied. It felt invasive. It made my skin crawl.

Finally, he tilted his head and spoke. “You’re a lot more beautiful than I thought. A lot more beautiful than your pictures.”

I stiffened.

“My… my pictures?” I managed.

But he didn’t acknowledge my confusion. He simply repeated himself with a hint of disdain. A lot.”

Then he added, almost to himself, “But not as beautiful as my sister.”

The words hit like a punch. His sister?

Wait. Does he have a sister? Did he have some sick fantasy about his sister or something?

I didn’t know what to say, and that made everything worse. My stomach twisted.

“What do you want from me?” I asked, voice cracking. “I don’t have any money…”

He burst out laughing. A loud, genuine, chest-shaking laugh like I’d just told the joke of the century.

“And you’re funny too,” he said, wiping his eyes mockingly. “No wonder he’s smitten by you.”

My blood turned to ice.
