Everything went great from there.
The alcohol finally slipped into my veins, and suddenly, the music didn’t feel as loud anymore—it just felt good. Dana and I were on the dance floor, laughing like schoolgirls, our hair wild, our bodies loose. We twirled each other, bumped hips, and laughed when we messed up. It felt like the kind of fun I hadn’t had in years.... maybe ever.
Then the men joined us. One moment, it was just us; the next, there were arms and bodies sliding in. David with Dana. Alan behind me. We moved as a group at first, dancing in rhythm, laughing, switching partners, switching sides. The floor was warm, the lights low and golden, and the beat... deep and steady.
Eventually, Dana drifted into David’s arms, her head tipped back, their foreheads brushing. That’s when I turned and Alan was still there. Close. Watching.
And then it was just the two of us.
We didn’t talk, we didn’t have to. His hands found my hips, and mine found his shoulders. We started to move. Slowly at first, like we were learning a rhythm together, and then more confidently. His hand pulled me closer. My body pressed into his, hips swaying to the beat.
I won’t lie. It was sensual.
I ground against him. I felt the heat behind me, the solid press of him. And I didn’t stop. I raised my arms above my head, rolled my hips, and let his hands trail lower. They slid over my waist, brushing the soft underside of my breasts, not quite touching, just skimming, teasing. Never crossing a line, just dancing near it. Like a dare.
His fingers dipped lower, tracing the top of my thighs, the soft line of my stomach.
But it was never too much.
It was just... fun. That’s the word for it. Fun.
A kind of fun I hadn’t let myself feel in a long time. Reckless. Spontaneous. Light. At some point, I leaned toward his ear, still moving with him, and whispered,
“I need the bathroom.”
“You want me to come with you?” he asked, voice warm against my skin.
