Claimed By The Mafia Don (Ariella and Asher) novel Chapter 312

ARIELLA

She squeezed my hand lightly. “But you’re strong Ariella. And the Don… he really loves you. He cares about you. I’ve seen the two of you together. I’m sure there’s nothing the two of you won’t survive together. You’ll be fine.”

I tightened my hold on her hand. “And I believe whatever you’re going through… you’re going to come out of it stronger. You’re incredibly brave, Maria.”

Her smile grew, touched and grateful. “Thank you.”

We stayed there like that, sitting in comfortable silence, each lost in our own thoughts but somehow sharing the weight of them.

After a while, I saw Asher walking toward us from the house. Even from a distance, his presence filled the space around him. The moment I spotted him, I stood up and turned to Maria.

“We probably won’t be here this evening,” I told her. “We’ll most likely have dinner in the city, I just wanted to let you know.”

“Oh? Where are you guys going?” she asked.

“To the city,” I said. “We haven’t been there yet since we got back… and Asher is free today.”

She smiled warmly. “Have fun.”

“Thank you.” I paused before adding, “Did you want to come along?”

She laughed softly, shaking her head. “No… of course not. I’ve been there, done that. I think I’ve had enough of those people for one lifetime. I’m perfectly fine staying here.”

I smiled, nodding in understanding before turning just as Asher reached me. His hand slid naturally around my waist, pulling me gently toward him as if it were the most instinctive thing in the world.

And just like that… I let myself lean into him.

“Want to come up to the bedroom…? There’s something I want to show you,” he whispered softly in my ear.

I laughed, pulling away from him.

“Really? I’m sure it’s something I’ve already seen before. You have nothing new to show, mister.”

He chuckled and pinched my waist lightly.

“Your brain is dirty, and you’re thinking dirty… but that’s not it. I have something else I want to show you.”

I looked at him, sceptical.

“Really?” I asked again.

He chuckled. “Yes, really. Come on, let’s go. Leon is asleep, and by the time he wakes up, I don’t want us to be left behind. You know how bossy your son can be,” he added, laughing as he started pulling me gently inside the house.

I smiled and let him pull me along, through the halls and upstairs toward our bedroom. When we reached the door, he opened it while I watched his face, trying to read him. Then he stepped aside and let me walk in first.

At first… I didn’t notice anything. I didn’t understand what I was seeing. You know when someone has done something and your brain doesn’t immediately process it? That’s exactly how it felt.
