Claimed By The Mafia Don (Ariella and Asher) novel Chapter 350

ARIELLA

I leaned slightly against the wall.

“I think when he first got here, everything distracted him. The house, the change… everything. But I know eventually that won’t be enough.”

Maria nodded.

“It’s good you’re giving him something stable.”

“Exactly.”

She smiled. “Alright. I’ll let you go. I’m going to get breakfast and listen to Leon's tales of a morning run.”

I nodded.

“And I’m going to find a room to turn into Leon’s classroom,” I added. “

“What about the library?” she suggested.

I shook my head.

“No, I use the library too. I don’t want it to become off-limits just because Leon's using it.”

Then I sighed lightly.

“I said I’d redesign this house… but everything that’s happened…” I trailed off. “Maybe I can at least start planning it now. It’ll give me something to do.”

“That’s a good idea,” she said.

I smiled.

“Okay. I’m going to go listen to Leon’s tragic story.” She said laughing.

“Good luck. And try not to laugh.”

“I’ll try,” she said. “But no promises."

"He won’t forgive you if you do.”

We both laughed at that. Then we split. She headed toward the kitchen, and I took off to the other hallway. And as I walked… I found myself smiling. Because today, Today felt light. Peaceful. Like everything had fallen into place, even if just for a moment.

Fifteen minutes later, I had found the perfect room that would serve as Leon’s study. It was located right next to his father’s office, offering an amazing view that stretched out into the garden. The lighting was perfect, soft, natural, and steady. All it needed now was a bit of decoration, and it would be ready.

A knock on the door pulled me from my thoughts.

“Come in.”

The door opened, and William stepped inside.

“Ah, William. What is it, is everything alright?”

“Ma’am, I have your phone here. Mr Romano has been trying to get in touch with you, but you left your phone in the kitchen.”

“Thank you,” I said, taking it from him.

“Also, the candidates for the tutoring position are already here. So whenever you’re ready… where would you like to have the interview?”

I glanced around the room again before answering.

“I’m thinking of turning this room into Leon’s study,” I said. “What do you think?”

William walked further in, his gaze moving over the space as he considered it.

“I think it’s perfect,” he said. “And I also believe if Leon knows his father is next door, he’ll have more determination to work even harder.”

We shared a small smile. I suppose we were all thinking about Leon at that moment, and his determination to prove himself to his father.

“And the candidates?” I asked. “Do you know them?”
