Claimed By The Mafia Don (Ariella and Asher) novel Chapter 385

ARIELLA

Asher gave me a questioning look as he sat down.

"What's going on?" He whispered low.

I shrugged slightly.

"Sia happened," I whispered back.

Frowning. “So,” Asher said, turning back to Leon, “how was your day?”

“It was fun!” Leon said immediately. “I learned so much. And she told me the story about the stump!”

“I see you’re very taken with this stump,” Asher said, amused. “What’s the story?”

But from the look on his face, from his voice, I knew he had no idea what Leon was talking about.

Leon didn’t notice. He launched straight into the story, Word for word. Everything Sia had told him And when he finished, Asher’s brows lifted slightly.

“Wow,” he said. “I kind of forgot about that.”

He leaned back slightly.

“That was a long time ago… and I’m not sure it happened exactly like that.”

“Really?” Leon said immediately. “Then tell me what happened!”

“It’s not important,” Asher said lightly. “Let’s eat first.”

“And then you’re going to show me the stump!” Leon insisted. “I want to see it!”

Asher hesitated.

“I’m not even sure I remember exactly where it is,” he admitted. “Why don’t you let Sia show you tomorrow?”

“But she said you would show me,” Leon argued, clearly disappointed now.

I glanced at Asher and He glanced back. And I knew, we both knew..... Leon wasn’t going to let this go.

“Why don’t you just show him?” I said softly.

Asher exhaled.

“Alright,” he said. “I’ll ask Luca.”

“Why Luca?” I asked quietly, keeping my voice low.

“When Sia fell,” he said, “Luca was the one who lost it and suggested building the gazebo. He’ll know where it is.”

He gave a small shrug.

“It’s been years. I don’t even remember which one it is.”

“There are a lot of gazebos,” I said.

“I know,” he muttered. “But if this is important to Leon, I’ll figure it out.”

“Thank you,” I said.

Under the table, I reached for his hand and He squeezed back. After dinner, Luca arrived, and the moment he walked in... It was obvious.

Suit on. His Shirt half open. The smell of alcohol and cheap perfume trailed behind him. I didn’t need to ask where he had been.

Maria didn’t stay when Luca arrived. She practically rushed out of the room the second she saw him. Luca paused, watching her for a second like he was trying to place where he was.

“Uncle Luca!” Leon shouted, running toward him.

Luca grinned, crouching slightly.

“Hey, little man.”

He looked up at Asher.

“So you called me like it was a life and death situation. What are we doing? Who are we killing?”

My eyes immediately flicked to Leon... But he burst out laughing.

“That’s so funny!” he said.

Luca blinked then laughed to himself.

“…What is wrong with him?” I muttered under my breath.

Asher shook his head, then said.

“We need you to show Leon the stump.”

“The stump?” Luca repeated, looking between us. “What stump?”

“You remember the tree Sia almost fell from,” Asher said. “The one that got cut down. The gazebo.”

Something clicked.
