Claimed By The Mafia Don (Ariella and Asher) novel Chapter 455

ARIELLA

A sob escaped me before I could stop it. My free hand flew to my mouth. Tears blurred my vision as my knees finally gave way beneath me.

I sank onto the floor. "They didn't take my son..." I whispered.

Then I looked up in horror.

"They have my son..... Oh my God..."

I began shaking uncontrollably.

"Luca..." My voice broke. "Do they have my son?"

"Relax, Ariella," he said firmly. "You're important to Asher too. If they were taking Leon, they would've wanted to take you as well."

"I don't care if they take me," I cried. "I just want to be with Leon."

"I know."

His voice softened for a moment before turning serious again.

"But we don't know these people. We don't know whether they're working together or separately."

I heard another voice call his name in the background.

"What I need you to do right now is leave that house."

"What?"

"Find a taxi. Walk if you have to. Do whatever you can, but get out of there."

My heart was pounding so hard I could barely hear him.

"I'm sending you a location right now. Don't come to the mansion. Just meet me at the nearest store or supermarket you can find, and I'll come get you."

I felt like crying.

"It's not safe where you are, and we don't know who we can trust. So don't trust anyone. I'm coming for you, okay?"

"Okay." I nodded, even though he couldn't see me. "I think there's a convenience store not far from here. I can walk there."

"Good. I'm coming to get you." His voice hardened.

"Just stay alive until I get there."

The call was about to end when I whispered, unable to stop the tears anymore,

"I need to find my son, Luca. I can't lose my son."

"Don't worry, Ariella. We're going to find him. Everything is going to be just fine," Luca said before ending the call.

For a long moment, I remained on my knees, staring at the dark screen of my phone. My hands wouldn't stop shaking. No matter how hard I tried, they wouldn't stop.

"No... no... no... no..." I whispered to myself.

Leon wasn't gone. He couldn't be. He had to be somewhere. Maybe he was just playing hide-and-seek. Maybe my mother had taken him somewhere, or maybe... I squeezed my eyes shut.

Even as the thoughts crossed my mind, I knew they weren't true. It was the middle of the night. Where the hell would my mother take him?

I couldn't keep lying to myself anymore. Something had happened. Something bad. I forced myself to my feet, wiping the tears from my face. I couldn't cry right now; I had to find Leon.

Asher told me not to leave... I left. And this happened. God...
