“Boss, we haven’t received any news from any of the investors. We’ve tried arranging an official meeting, but we still haven’t gotten any feedback.”
Veyron’s voice drifted in and out, and I barely heard a single word he said. All I could think about was the fact that she hadn’t texted me, hadn’t called me. Nothing.
My own wife. Snow.
Last night had gone on in a frenzy. I couldn’t ignore Lencia’s call, especially not when she threatened to use a sex toy if I didn’t show up.
The thought of her pussy clenching around my cock is too hard to ignore. I had to drop my wife at the roadside and speed off without a second thought.
On my way, I even stopped to buy the ointment to smoother things as usual, since she’s so easy to please. But she surprised me with her ejection and her glare, as though my mere presence irritated her.
Never have I seen her sleep so deeply as she did this morning when I stepped into our bedroom to get dressed for work.
I had even taken my time to make her breakfast, something I rarely do unless there’s a special occasion, or when I want to manipulate her into doing something she doesn’t want to do.
She was supposed to call to say her thanks and whisper her “I love you” as usual, but it’s almost afternoon and yet nothing. Not even a single call.
After a few seconds of debating, I reached for my cellphone and called Ana, the housemaid. She answered on the first ring, her voice polite as always.
“Sir, you called.”
“My wife. Hasn’t she woken up?” I asked, almost impatient.
“Ah, she has, sir. She stepped out hours ago in the morning.”
I froze. Snow walked out of my house without informing me?
“What?”
“She said she is going to home.”

“Home? Which foolish home? And you couldn’t stop her?!” I snapped before disconnecting in
anger.
No. It wasn’t Mooncrest Pack. After what happened last night, I am certain Snow wouldn’t step foot in that place again, not right now.
A place she can boldly call “home” is only one place, and my heart clenched in anger at the thought of her going back to her human family.
Those people are her first strength. Reuniting with them will give her too much support, the kind I would hate. Their father, Grant, is the CEO of Frost Law Firm. Rocco, the eldest, is a high judge.
His fiancée is the leader of the forensic team in H.O.W.L. The twins, Eshan and Kashi, are a prosecutor and a lawyer respectively, and their girlfriends are a top actress and best newscaster.

Too much connection. Too much wealth for me to handle. If Snow dares go back to them, she will become impossible to control and I cannot lose her, not after I have taken her, quieted her, and kept her around my fingers for four years.
With anger brewing inside me, I dialed her number immediately. After multiple rings, she didn’t pick up. I tried again, but before I could finish dialing, her text came in, short and harsh.
I won’t be coming home tonight. I am staying with my family.
Just that. Nothing more. I dialed again, but this time her phone was switched off. Anger exploded through me and I slammed my cellphone against the wall, Veyron stepping out of the way just in time.
Silence fell as I struggled to control myself. I hate it when she stands her ground this way. She is supposed to be stupid for me. For me!
I breathed shakily, trying to calm myself. Perhaps this is because of the lost ring. She loved that wedding ring too much. I bit my lower lip at the thought.
I had taken a huge loan to have that ring made specially. It was one of a kind. Luxurious and expensive and I paid the debt for years. But the one I eventually gave to Snow wasn’t the real
one.
Why would I give. the real ring, one I bought with so much money to a woman who was raped and with no hope of bearing a pup?
I had the real one made, then hired a blacksmith to create a replica, cheap, like the whore she is, and I gave that one to her. The real one is tucked away safely, waiting for the day Viviana returns so I can give it to her.
I raked my fingers through my hair and finally looked up at Veyron, jaw tightening. I had

forgotten he was still standing there. We had so much to cover before the Christmas bells start chiming. As if it hasn’t already.
“What documents do you have?” I asked at last. He stepped forward and placed them on my desk. I flipped the first page open and sighed. Godlike Legal Empire, as an investor, was at the
very top.
I’m the one trying to reach for the stars. There are other investors I could pick randomly, but locking a business deal with Godlike Legal Empire is like hitting the biggest jackpot. I have sent requests many times over the years and still no response.
I debated whether to drop it or not when a breaking news alert flashed across the TV ahead. I glanced up and immediately stiffened. The death of Mr. Hanba Billions?
“Mr. Hanba is dead?!” I asked Veyron, shocked, and he nodded.
“Daylight News channel announced his death this morning. He was murdered at his vacation house last night.”
“Really? My goodness… who would have thought an opportunity like this would come?” I murmured almost to myself.
Mr. Hanba had spent his life trying to surpass Godlike Legal Empire as the most powerful company. He had overshadowed Frosty Airline And Resort F.A.A.R last summer, taking home the award that was supposed to be mine.
His demise means Godlike Legal Empire will become even more influential now that there is no competition. All the more reason I must secure a deal with them.
His death didn’t affect me one bit. Whoever dies is the one who is doomed. We, the living, must live on.
I sighed, finally reaching a decision.
“Veyron, contact Godlike Legal Empire again. This time, note in the document that it’s a collaboration for the holiday charity. That way, I doubt they’ll ignore it. And… uhm…” I paused, sighing again. “My wife’s wedding ring was lost. Have men check everywhere for it. Pawn shops, places she’s been these last few days.”
After my order, I expected Veyron to hurry off, but he hesitated, staring at me in confusion. I raised an eyebrow.
“The ring is… fake. Can’t you just get another one for…”
The rest of his words died under my glare.
“How about you get a megaphone and announce to her that her husband bought her a fake

ring?” I snapped sarcastically. “Making another fake one will cost another money and I am not in the mood to spend penny on her until she behave.”
“I’m sorry, boss. I’ll inform the men immediately.”
I glared before dismissing him with a look.
