The atmosphere shifted instantly. What began as a simple dismissal now choked the room, thick, suffocating tension that pressed against every chest, every throat, every heartbeat.
The only sound left was the low, mocking voice spilling from the recorder.
The rapist’s laugh, casual and cruel, as if what he’d done was nothing more than an ordinary Tuesday night. Every word he spoke carved deeper into me, disgust and irritation coiling tight in my gut until I felt hollow.
Goosebumps crawled across my skin.
When the recording finally stopped, silence swallowed the room whole.
Roc reached out slowly, almost reluctantly and picked up one of the photos. He stared at it for a long moment, face radiant with stunned awe, color draining as recognition hit.
‘Dad… check this,” he said quietly, voice cracking as he extended the picture toward my human father.
Grant, my human father hesitated, hand hovering, as if touching it might burn him.
At last he accepted it. His eyes moved over the image, and for what felt like an eternity he said nothing. Then, softly.
‘It’s not true.”
His voice was small, almost pleading.
‘Viviana might not like you that much, Snow, but she wouldn’t go to that extreme.”
looked at him quiet, steady, nodding once as though I understood. I’d believed those same words once too. Until the truth slammed into me like a freight train,
‘She and Ares’s picture,” Eshan said, voice low and dangerous as he studied the last photo. His gaze shifted to Viviana. “They both knew about this.”
Viviana sat perfectly still now, throat working as she swallowed hard.
“We’re all mistaken,” Eshan continued, eyes never leaving her. “Snow is telling lies. You didn’t do this. Right?”
Kashi paused, waiting.
Tension flared like a live wire.
She swallowed again. Brushed away the last flicker of guilt from her expression. Then slowly, very slowly she looked at me, eyes searching mine with what felt like genuine sadness, as though I were the one accusing her wrongly.
Tears gathered at her lashes, burning, scalding, perfectly timed.
“I was the perfect daughter in Mooncrest Pack,” she said, voice trembling just enough to sound real. “Loved by my parents, by my brothers, until the realization came that I was just human. Not related to them by blood. Then you arrived. The true blooded daughter. Grandmother loved you so much she gifted you the holy sacred key. I was jealous. I cursed you. I cried. I threw tantrums.

Chapter 251
But that was all, Snow. Why would I go to the extreme of… of orchestrating a rape? Why would I do that?”
Tears trailed down her cheeks as she shivered.

“I know your brain is shrinking. I know you hate me. But does that mean you’ll go to the extent of editing photos, hiring a man to speak into a recorder and lie against me? Hmm?”
Her performance was flawless. If I hadn’t lived the truth myself, if I hadn’t felt every second of that alley, I might have believed her in an instant.
“So her brain is shrinking?” my mother’s voice cut in, harsh and biting. “That must be why she’s speaking nonsense! You should pack your bags and come now. Maybe a few herbs from the pack will help your deranged mind.”
I went cold, literally cold as her words landed.
Slowly I looked around the room. Doubt had crept into every face except my human brothers‘. Their expressions were stone, unreadable, but I could feel the storm building behind their eyes.
“Fine,” I said, sighing as though the fight had drained out of me. “If no one believes my words… how about we reopen the case.”
“No.” My human father’s voice cracked like a whip, quick, final.
looked at him suspiciously.
He met my gaze squared, unflinching.
‘We passed all that four years ago. You asked for the case to be closed yourself. You won’t be opening it now just to cause scandals. There are too many things on the line. Too many legacies.”
‘She can open it if she wants; Grant,” my biological father said quietly.
‘You’ve got to be kidding me, Herold. Easy for you to say when she isn’t bearing your last name.”
‘All and sundry know she’s my biological daughter.”
‘The one I brought up myself from birth.” Grant’s voice rose slightly. “I’m going into elections. If she dares open the dark alley case, my name will be soiled. My three sons‘ reputations hang in the balance too. Their lovers come from respectable families and associating with dirty words like rape will do them no good. The case stays shut. What more can be done anyway after four years? That doesn’t take away the fact that she was raped, does it?”
“Father,” Roc said in stunned awe.
My father, Grant turned to him sharp.
