Chapter 326
Snowflakes
I opened the door quietly and felt him step in behind me. The moment the latch clicked shut, he didn’t move from the doorway.
Suddenly the air felt thick, awkward, like his presence alone had shifted the entire space.
“Uh… what should I get you?” I asked.
Instead of answering, his gaze had already caught on the framed pictures of Cupid. Slowly, he walked over and stopped before the largest one.
Silence settled between us, heavy and expectant.
I hadn’t opened up to any of my family about my relationship with Cupid yet. Maybe this was the moment to start.
“Dad, that’s…”
“I’ll take water,” he cut in softly, turning to me with a small, almost guarded look, as though he didn’t want to discuss Cupid right
now.
Our eyes met for one brief, loaded second. I nodded and left for the kitchen.
By the time I returned with the glass, he was still standing before the frame, studying it quietly.
“Here,” I murmured.
Only then did he move to the couch and sit. I settled carefully on the opposite one, leaving a deliberate distance between us. The space felt safer that way.
I reached for the remote and turned on the TV. The first channel was already talking about me.
“TRUE MOONCREST SHOWS HER DIVINE INTUITION YET AGAIN,” the headline read in bold letters.
I turned to my father in confusion, waiting for an explanation. Instead, he asked a question of his own.
“Ruis was here?”
I paused. Ruis? As in Alpha Ruis of Godlike Pack?
“Y… yeah.”
“Hmm.”
“How do you know?” I asked, genuinely puzzled.
“His energy still lingers here.” He pointed to the exact spot where Cupid’s father had stood the other day, then to the counter. “And
there.”
I couldn’t wrap my head around it.
“So… you can feel energies too?”

“It becomes even more vivid once you become an Alpha,” he replied, lifting the glass to take a slow sip. “Every Mooncrest carries divine intuition. It sets us apart from other packs.”
I fell silent, remembering how Alpha Ruis had once mentioned my father’s intuition, that it was a “bonus” when considering me as a match for Cupid.
“So… you can see the past too?” I asked quietly,
He turned slowly and held my gaze for a long moment. Gentle tension flared between us before he finally answered.
“No. Each Mooncrest bloodline carries different divine gifts.”
“So… what’s yours?”
He set the glass down carefully.
“I see when people will die.”
The words landed like ice water. I went cold all over, staring at him in stunned awe.
Death?
He looked away before I could ask anything more, his gaze drifting sideways to Cupid’s framed photo again. He reached for the water and drained the rest in one long swallow.
“I received a call from my Beta that you were on TV,” he said, voice steady again. “I’m glad to know your powers are strengthening. It should only be a matter of time before your first full shift.”
“Yes. This morning… I made a small shift.” His eyes snapped back to mine. “My palm turned to paws.”
Silence fell again, thicker this time. He frowned, waiting.
I explained what had happened that morning. Nero’s attack, the sudden surge, the claws slashing across his face. When I finished, he paused, a deep frown creasing his brow.
“Those bastards,” he murmured, voice low and rough.
He didn’t meet my eyes as he said it. I could feel the weight he was carrying, something heavy, something he hadn’t yet shared.
“Dad?”
