I paused and turned, settling my gaze on Sera. She had been quiet ever since we came home, even now as she finished preparing dinner.
When our eyes met, I could almost read her thoughts. I smiled and walked toward her, and she hugged me tenderly, kissing my hair.
“I can’t imagine my man laying hands on me,” she whispered, pulling back to search my eyes. “You deserve to be happy. None of your brother are as shrewd as Ares of F.A.A.R.”
I smiled at her words. I knew that my brothers were nothing like that crazy ex–husband.
“I’m fine, Sera. As long as I’m home, I want to help with dinner. It was my task before I left the house.”
She nodded with a soft smile.
“Mirena and Pinky will arrive later, but I think Father won’t be joining us, right?”
“Yeah. He’s already gone to bed.”
She nodded again, handing me the dishes, which I carried to the dining table, placing everything where it belonged.
Sera arrived with the main dishes, and I arrange the glass cups, just as my brothers walked in to join us. Roc kissed Sera before sitting, and for a brief moment, a sting of loneliness pierced me.
Hours had passed since I told Cupid goodbye, and I hadn’t called him. I stood there, frozen, wondering what he might be doing now. Surely hot entertaining another woman… right? He wouldn’t…
“Snow?”
The call snapped me out of my thoughts. I looked up to see them watching me in quiet astonishment.
I swallowed, steadying myself. I had zoned out before, but this was different, heavier. If I wanted to keep my sanity, I had to call Cupid tonight.
“Are you okay?” Kashi asked.

“I was only lost in thought,” I murmured, then looked at him, my lawyer brother, the one who knew more of the law than I ever would. “How long until I’m officially free and single, Kashi?”
The pause that followed was suffocating. I almost slapped myself for being so blunt. I had only just divorce. How could I already be thinking of another man?
My brothers exchanged looks before Roc answered.
“Kashi only took the divorce case because he’s your brother, not because he handles divorces professionally.”
There was a tone beneath his words that sound more like a warning. Whatever man I would someday bring before the Frost, he would have to be worthy, or they would make him regret breathing.
I lowered my gaze, continuing to serve, speaking softly because I knew they were waiting for me to slip.
“I was only curious. I know I’m still bound to Ares for now.”
“In a few weeks,” Eshan answered quietly, his eyes locked on mine. “By the first week of December, you’ll both be officially separated.”
I nodded, swallowing. I was about to pour drinks when Kashi asked, his voice too sharp, too knowing.
“You have a man in your life? A new one?”
I nearly spilled the drink. I swallowed again, struggling for composure under their gaze. The silence was thick, almost suffocating.
What would they do if they learned I had already let another man touch me? Claim me? A man whose first appearance arose questions?
I lowered my gaze, unable to bear the risk of rejection.
“Not yet. I’ll heal first… focus on us and work,” I murmured.
Only then did they relax. Eshan reached over to rub my back tenderly,
Sera continued her task until the sound of a car pulling into the garage echoed. Kashi lifted his head from his plate.
“It must be Mirena. Snow, will you check on it?”
“Sure.”

I left the dining room and opened the door, only to see Pinky stepping out of her car. She moved to the bonnet, grabbed a traveler’s bag, and walked toward the house.
She paused when she saw me. Our eyes met, hers burning with frustration, mine full of surprise.
I stepped back into the living room, facing the dining area.
“Eshan?” I called.
He turned just as his girlfriend walked in with her bag.
Eshan stood from the table, staring at her in disbelief before she let the bag drop and rushed into his arms. We all raised our brows.
What was going on?
“I’m not going back home, Eshan,” Pinky choked, pulling back to look him in the eye. “I’m staying here. Where is Father? He’ll let me stay, fight?”
We all gathered in the living room, waiting, confused. Then another car pulled into the garage. Mirena entered, clearly exhausted and ready to collapse into Kashi’s arms but she froze at the scene before her.
Her eyes scanned the room before settling on Pinky.
Pinky Pie, her stage name. Actress. But truly, she was the only daughter of Lady Glitters of the Bluemoon family. A lineage where power is inherited, but respect is earned.
Lady Glitters had been born a werewolf aristocrat, married into the human Dallas dynasty, and bore only one child. Pinky.
After Pinky’s father died, her mother inherited the Dallas empire and tripled its worth. The Dallas name was spotless, untouched by rumor or scandal. Until now, judging by Pinky arriving in the night with a bag packed in panic.
“Pinky?” Eshan whispered, trying to calm her. She clung to him tightly, as if fearing he would
vanish.
“You love me, right?” she asked frantically. “Eshan, you still love me?”
Confusion creased his face.
“What’s going on? Why are you asking questions you already know the answer to? Is everything okay? Hmm?”
“I’m not going back home, Eshan. I will stay here”

“You’re scaring me, love. What happened?”
Pinky bit her lower lip and turned to me. Her eyes said everything before she spoke. She lowered her gaze.
“My mom heard the news about Snow and… and she wants me out of the Frost.”
