Su Qinglan had just finished her warm bath when Han Jue stepped into the room.
He looked at her, his eyes softening instantly. "Lanlan, you’ve bathed?"
Su Qinglan nodded softly. Without a word, Han Jue gently grabbed a plush towel and began drying her waist-length hair with delicate, careful movements.
Once her hair was damp-free, he effortlessly lifted her up in his arms and carried her straight to the bed, helping her slip into a soft, comfortable nightgown.
As she settled down, Han Jue’s hands carefully shifted her gown to check her skin. His gaze was sharp and intense...if he had found a single mark on her body, he would have stormed right out of the room to beat that shameless angel to a pulp!
Seeing no injuries, he frowned slightly. "Did you use your ability to heal yourself?"
Su Qinglan blinked, wondering why he was asking. She slowly shook her head. "No... I didn’t."
Truthfully, she found it a bit strange to use her own spiritual energy to heal her own body. It always gave her an uncomfortable, prickling sensation, so she hardly ever used it on herself unless absolutely necessary.
Besides, after leaving the Sacred Pond, she felt completely energized and full of vitality, so there had been no reason to use it.
Han Jue nodded, slightly reassured. But his stern, worried expression didn’t fade.
"Lie down," he instructed softly. "You must be sore all over from that wild beast, right?"
Su Qinglan’s face instantly flushed a brilliant crimson. She gave a playful, teasing smile, shifting her shoulders. "It’s nothing! See? I’m completely fine; I can even jump around!"
Han Jue remained silent for a second, looking at her with deep affection mixed with heavy annoyance. "Lanlan... how could he be such an absolute beast? He flew away with you for an entire week! He is truly shameless. I knew he was up to no good...he clearly has even more shameless tricks up his sleeve than Rong Ye!"
Hearing Han Jue complain so grumpily about An Mo, Su Qinglan couldn’t help but giggle softly. She leaned in, snuggling her face right into his broad, warm chest.
Han Jue placed a large, broad palm over her delicate waist, pulling her straight onto his lap.
"It’s not like that..." Su Qinglan defended softly against his chest. "He’s an angel, so... his ways are just a bit different."
Han Jue buried his face in her hair, sighing. "I’m not complaining about him, Lanlan... I’m just upset because I missed you so much."
Su Qinglan’s heart melted. She giggled, pressing her cheek against his. "I know, I know... I missed you too."
Unable to hold back his longing any longer, Han Jue turned his head and captured her lips in a deep, fiery kiss. Su Qinglan kissed him back with equal passion, her hands sliding up his broad shoulders as she straddled his lap.
Groaning into the kiss, Han Jue gripped her waist, lifting her off his lap and gently laying her down onto the soft bed. He hovered directly over her, positioning himself between her legs, and Su Qinglan instinctively parted her thighs to accommodate him.
When he finally broke the kiss, his eyes were dark with intense focus. Slowly, he bunched up her silk nightgown around her waist, exposing her lower body to his view.
Su Qinglan’s face burned like fire. "So impatient..." she teased softly.
Han Jue didn’t say a word.
Suddenly, his long fingers touched her most sensitive area, and Su Qinglan let out a sharp, soft hiss!
A sudden, cool, stinging sensation spread across her skin, bringing her instantly back to reality. He wasn’t trying to initiate anything...he was carefully applying a cool, soothing medicinal paste over her inflamed skin!
"Han Jue!" Su Qinglan gasped, her face bright red as she tried to shift away. "There’s really no need! I’m fine; it would have healed on its own by tomorrow morning!"
Han Jue remained completely silent and unyielding. He parted her legs a little firmer, carefully inspecting her red and slightly swollen entrance with a grave, pained expression.
