Cold Husband Burning Regret: The Divorce He Couldn't Handle novel Chapter 497

Leah was speechless, letting out an awkward laugh to cover her embarrassment. "Well, I didn't really have a choice. Oh, by the way, Judd is in Eldermere City too!"

Charlotte froze. "Professor Carstairs?"

Seeing that the change of subject had worked, Leah pressed on. "Yeah, we were on the same flight. Didn't he tell you?"

Charlotte had no idea Judd was in Eldermere City. After all, there was no reason for him to be, unless…

After ending the call with Leah, Charlotte contacted Vera, who confirmed that Judd had been transferred to Eldermere Hospital shortly after she resigned.

She opened Judd's contact on WhatsApp and hesitated for a moment before typing out a message.

Judd received Charlotte's message while he was in the hospital director's office, discussing a major upcoming project.

He glanced at his phone screen, a slight frown creasing his brow. Setting down his teacup, he quickly tapped out a reply.

"With your involvement, I have no doubt this project will be a success," the director was saying, pulling Judd’s attention back. "I'll assign some staff to assist you and coordinate their work with yours."

Judd nodded. "Of course." He picked up his cup again, blowing gently on the surface of the tea, a thoughtful look in his eyes.

"Is there a problem?" the director asked, noticing his expression.

"Not at all," Judd said with a faint smile, putting the cup down. "However, regarding the assistant, I'd prefer to bring in someone from outside the hospital."

The director was momentarily surprised but assumed Judd had his own trusted team and readily agreed without further questions.

A moment later, Judd picked up his phone again. His fingers hovered over the screen, as if carefully composing his response.
