Book11 Chapter7.
I looked up. Jayden was back.
As soon as he walked in, he started yelling, "Freya, what the hell did you do? Now everyone in the community knows!"
I put on a confused face and asked innocently, "What does everyone know? What are you talking about, honey?"
"You really don't know?"
He looked at me in disbelief, not convinced that I hadn't heard what everyone in the community knew.
I quickly nodded. "After last quarrel, I've been at home every day waiting to apologize to you. I haven't even had the heart to go out or check my phone. Did you send me any messages?"
I pretended to pick up my phone to check.
Seeing this, he quickly grabbed my hand and hurriedly apologized, "Nothing, honey, there's nothing to see. I'm sorry, I was wrong."
I seized the moment and switched to an excited expression. "Honey, I have great news! I found my biological father!"
"Really? Congratulations." He responded with little interest, clearly not caring about my joy or sorrow.
He was probably only thinking about his affair being exposed and his social death.
The next piece of news would really shake him up.
Huh, how dare he?
I struggled to keep my expression from twisting in disgust and cheerfully said, "Of course, honey. What's mine is yours. See, I told you, our good days are still ahead."
He didn't notice, his head clouded with joy, that his name wasn't on the main property deed.
My dad is a shrewd businessman. He made sure to include in the gift contract that the house was only for his daughter, Freya Carter.
Let Jayden enjoy his dream for a little longer.
The more beautiful the dream now, the more painful it will be when it shatters.
