Book11 Chapter8.
Jayden sat on the couch, clutching his phone. Sometimes his fingers flew across the screen. Other times he used the camera to snap pictures of the property deed.
Judging by his expression, he was probably bragging about his new house to everyone.
I calmly took the deed and put it away.
He accidentally opened a voice message. From the speaker, I heard Ruby's angry voice, "Jayden, you want to break up? No way! Everyone's cursing me now..."
Jayden looked up and saw me, then hurriedly cut off the voice message.
I acted like a concerned wife, asking him, "Honey, are you in some kind of trouble?"
"Just a scam call, honey. I'll go make some barbecue ribs to celebrate."
He impatiently put his phone down, eagerly tied on an apron, rolled up his sleeves, and hummed a tune as he headed to the kitchen.
I took a picture of Jayden working in the kitchen, added Ruby as a friend on my main account, and sent it directly to her.
Along with a message, "Cheap husband's cheap barbecue ribs. Once he's done, I'll bring a bowl over to you, the cheap woman."
Soon, there was banging on the door outside.
I quickly ran to the kitchen, trembling with fear in a way that made me look pitiful.
I quickly dodged backward. She tripped over the door frame, falling flat on her face.
Ruby got up and was about to charge at me again when the neighbors heard the commotion in my place.
They all gathered around.
The lady from 501 pointed at Ruby's nose and started scolding her, "You bitch! Causing trouble online wasn't enough? Now you're messing with Ms. Carter. She might be too polite to deal with you, but we aren't so easy to bully!"
I didn't even have to lift a finger. The lady grabbed Ruby off the ground, slapped her twice. She was still not satisfied, kicked her twice as well.
I couldn't help but feel thrilled inside!
