The Quinn Family, right now.
Ronald had just finished calming Stella down when he heard Hull’s call demanding someone’s presence. He rubbed his temples, feeling a headache coming on.
“Hugo, he—”
“Ronald.”
He was about to explain that Hugo really couldn’t make it right now, but when he looked down, he saw Stella staring up at him, wide-eyed and pleading.
His headache only got worse.
In the end, with Stella clinging pitifully to his shirt, Ronald sighed into the phone, “Alright.”
He hung up.
He gently pinched Stella’s cheek. “You, I swear…”
There was just no winning with her.
Susanna had just been whisked away by Yvonne, and on top of that, Stella had finally blown up at Dan, exposing the rift between them.
Stella was clearly tense.
She pouted at Ronald’s mock-scolding, grumbling, “But Susie can’t get hurt.”
“You don’t trust your own sister?”
Stella replied, “I don’t trust her temper, that’s for sure.”
It was true.
Yvonne, on a good day, could actually be pretty reasonable—she’d at least listen to logic. But right now? It was a whole different ballgame.
At the moment, Yvonne was all fire and no brakes. There was no telling what she might do.
But Ronald didn’t see it that way. “Relax. She’s not going to eat Susie alive.”
“Not literally,” Stella muttered, barely holding back her nerves.
“Hm?” Ronald raised a brow.
Stella huffed, “But she might go full drill sergeant and spend three days straight whipping Susie into shape.”
And honestly? Not even Stella could have survived that. She remembered the time Yvonne put her through a whole month of that “special training.” She’d nearly lost her mind.
