Once Tian Yang agreed to have his physique examined, Chao Shuying led him to another room, where a single large device stood alone at its center.
The device was pitch black, its surface resembling polished obsidian. Shaped like a rectangular coffin, it was covered in golden Array Symbols that shimmered softly, giving it an otherworldly beauty.
"I was expecting something massive—something meant for giants," Tian Yang remarked when he saw how ordinary in size the device was.
Chao Shuying smiled. "Do you have any idea how many materials we’d need to build one on a giant scale? Even if we had the funds, this world doesn’t have enough resources to make it."
"Is that so..."
Chao Shuying proceeded to hand him a white cloth and said, "Remove all of your clothes and cleanse your entire body in that bathroom over there. Once you’re done, wear this and come back out."
Tian Yang didn’t ask any questions and simply followed her instructions.
Several minutes later, he stepped out of the bathroom wearing nothing but a white cloth wrapped around his waist.
"You have a well-balanced physique. Are you also a body refiner?" Chao Shuying questioned him after seeing his refined physique, neither too muscular nor too lean.
"While I do temper my body occasionally, I wouldn’t call myself a body refiner," he replied.
"Now then, all you need to do is lie inside this device and wait for me to finish. Once it begins, you’ll be submerged in liquid for a few minutes, so don’t be too surprised when it happens."
"Alright."
Tian Yang entered the coffin-shaped device—just large enough to contain him—and watched as Chao Shuying lowered the lid, sealing him inside.
Inside, it was completely silent and utterly dark—so still that his senses began to dull within moments.
Then, without warning, he felt something warm rising around him, quickly submerging his body.
As a cultivator of the True Immortal realm, Tian Yang could hold his breath for days without difficulty. A few minutes posed no concern whatsoever.
Some time later, Tian Yang felt the liquid rapidly draining away, and moments after it disappeared, Chao Shuying opened the lid of the device.
"It’s done," she said.
When Tian Yang regained his senses, he could instantly smell the strong medicinal scent on his body, presumably from the liquid.
"What are the results?" Kulas asked, sounding a little impatient.
"Uhh..." Chao Shuying looked at the device, which showed no reaction, and replied in a puzzled voice, "He doesn’t have one..."
"What?" Kulas frowned. "How is that possible?"
"I don’t know, but the device isn’t reacting at all. This only happens when the individual has no physique."
"So it wasn’t his physique that caused the abnormal pill absorption rate?"
Kulas turned to look at Tian Yang and asked, "Are you sure you don’t have a special bloodline?"
"I don’t know my real parents since I was abandoned before I could even crawl, but I also had my blood tested before. No results."
"We can also examine your blood here if you’d like," Chao Shuying suddenly said. "What do you think?"
"Since I am already here... might as well."
