As Yuan quietly walked down the crowded underground streets, his distinctive appearance drew the attention of nearly everyone he passed.
While everyone present wore tight bodysuits that resembled futuristic spacesuits, Yuan wore loose robes from the Nine Heavens. However, it wasn’t his unique appearance alone that made him stand out, as his low cultivation at the 3rd level of God Ascension left many people speechless.
After all, even children at the age of 10 were Cultivation Gods in their world. Yet, an adult like Yuan was below that.
Yuan ignored the stares and examined the buildings’ structures.
’As I thought, they resemble those from Earth, but they are far more advanced... Could this place somehow be Earth’s future?’ Yuan wondered inwardly.
As absurd as the thought sounded, it made sense to him. After all, it would explain why the cultivators here possessed strength that far surpassed even those of the Demonic Realm—a world already far ahead of the Nine Heavens in the passage of time.
Moreover, he had already visited a world that was essentially the ancient Nine Heavens, so it would not be strange if, this time, he had arrived in the distant future instead.
’So this is what Earth would look like in the future, huh?’ Yuan’s intrigue surged after reaching this conclusion.
However, he still couldn’t understand why he was brought to this world in the first place, as he’d expected something else entirely after fully translating the technique given to him by the ’Eternal’ that was sealed the last time he visited the cavern.
’And this whole situation... what could they possibly be hiding from?’
If experts who stood far above the Absolute God Realm were frightened enough to hide underground, Yuan could not help but feel nervous about the kind of monsters they were hiding from.
As Yuan walked through the underground shelter, he began to understand what the children meant when they said that life below was no different from life on the surface.
There were restaurants, schools, and even parks in this shelter, making life underground the same as on the surface.
Moreover, the people present all acted as if it were normal, indicating they were used to such a lifestyle.
"Hey, you with the weird appearance!" A voice suddenly resounded loudly.
Even without looking, Yuan knew this person was calling out to him, so he stopped and turned around to face them.
"?!?!"
Yuan’s eyes widened with shock and disbelief when he saw the face of this individual.
"Meixiu?!" Yuan exclaimed when he saw the face of the individual who had called out to him.
At first, he thought she merely resembled Meixiu. However, even that would have been an understatement, as this woman looked exactly like her.
This woman, who resembled Meixiu, wore a black-and-white suit with a golden badge on her chest.
"What nonsense are you babbling about? I am Officer Mei." The woman responded as she approached Yuan.
She looked at him from head to toe before questioning with a frown on her face, "Where is your battlesuit?"
"Uh... I lost it?" Yuan made a random excuse.
"Are you serious? You know it’s against the law to walk around outside without your suit, right? A misdemeanor, to be exact. Let me see your ID," said Officer Mei, gesturing for his identification.
Yuan pretended to look around his robes before responding, "Oh, right. I lost it along with my suit."
"What?! How can you lose something like that?!"
Yuan shrugged.
Officer Mei rubbed her eyes and sighed. "In that case, you are under arrest."
Before Yuan could respond, Officer Mei flicked her arm, sending a streak of golden light toward him.
The moment it touched Yuan, the golden light coiled around his body like ropes, binding him in place.
"?"
Yuan stared at the bindings with a raised eyebrow. The next instant, he felt every ounce of strength drain from his body.
