Jaliyah rushed forward, trying to grab Noah’s sleeve, but he deftly sidestepped her touch.

She pouted, looking hurt and aggrieved.

“Noah, that woman’s bad news. Please don’t let her trick you,” Jaliyah pleaded, her voice soft and full of concern.

“Are you doubting my intelligence?” Noah replied coldly.

“No, no, it’s just… she pretended to be me, the Linville heiress, and when she got exposed, she ran off with her tail between her legs.

“Then she tried to hook up with my brother, hoping to become his side chick. Someone like her doesn’t deserve you at all,” Jaliyah said, her voice full of jealousy and contempt.

She’d just seen Noah move closer to Chloe, and her eyes were practically burning with jealousy.

‘Level seven?!‘ Everyone was stunned, their minds reeling.

Chloe was about to say something, but before she could get a word out, the mist began to roll out from the island, quickly engulfing a 600–yard swath of ocean.

“What’s happening on the island?”

Everyone was freaking out.

Jaiden was the first to rush into the water, vanishing into the mist. No one could see what was going on in there, and all they could hear was the sound of fierce fighting.

Soon after, others followed suit, diving in as well.

Turns out, some clever folks had actually brought boats along.

It turned out everyone had their own way of getting to the island. They had just kept their plans to themselves until now.

Noah looked at Chloe. “Let’s go.”

She didn’t respond right away. Instead, she glanced over at her teammates, checking on them.

“This mission is seriously dangerous. Setting foot on that island is almost certain death. If you’re a powered human below level six, you’d better not go,” Chloe said, her tone calm and resolute.

Noah nodded. “Your captain’s under my protection and nothing’s going to happen to her.”

“Plus, there are tons of powerful mutant beasts over in Riverside. Once all the level–six powered humans clear out, those beasts are bound to show up. It’s the perfect place to toughen up,” Noah added.

Everyone thought it over for a moment, then nodded. In the end, Chloe, Phantom Zombie, and Jagger from Blaze Squad stepped into the mist.
