Wade's brow furrowed tighter. "Alright, you handle it first."
After hanging up, he looked up and immediately caught sight of Janice's stiff expression.
He pressed his lips together for a moment, then said, "Sorry, I have something urgent. I've reserved a table. You can call your friends to come and keep you company."
Before Janice could even process it, Wade had buckled his seatbelt and floored the accelerator. The car sped off, kicking up a cloud of dust.
Janice stared after him for a long moment. Finally, she blinked, then shrugged as if to comfort herself. "Fine, then."
She looked around the restaurant, feeling a little lost.
Her stomach growled. She thought that since she was here anyway, why make things hard for herself?
After taking a deep breath, she found her seat and ordered a few dishes. They looked appealing, but after tasting them, she found them utterly bland.
Janice's straight back suddenly seemed to deflate. Her cheeks puffed with a piece of foie gras in her mouth, but her expression looked a little downcast.
She missed Ariel and Chad.
But today was really humiliating. She felt a mix of embarrassment and an unfamiliar sense of grievance.
On closer thought, it almost seemed petty on her part. After all, Wade and Alicia were siblings.
Sucking in her nose, Janice kept chewing the food in her mouth.
It was fine. After all, she would be family to Wade soon. It was no big deal.
…
After Jayson took Ariel out of the clubhouse, they didn't go anywhere and went straight back to their marital home.
Ariel was still unsure about Jayson's condition.
After they got inside, she frowned at him. "Can't you take a few days to rest properly first?"
"I want to hear it from you."
Jayson raised an eyebrow. "Well, I flew abroad for this ring a week before we registered our marriage. It was already named 'Devotion,' and I really liked it."
He liked the name because it seemed like a blessing and a symbol of his relationship with Ariel.
"Our marriage came about too suddenly. A custom-made ring for you would have taken too long. I didn't want to just pick something random. By chance, there was this auction, so I went."
Even if their beginning had been a little unorthodox, Jayson refused to compromise on the details of their marriage. He wanted everything done properly for Ariel.
Ariel clenched her fingers without realizing it. After swallowing hard, she asked, "And yours?"
Jayson raised his hand and glanced at the wedding ring on his finger. "It was made urgently a week before we registered our marriage."
All the designer had to do was base it on the elements of Ariel's ring.
It didn't matter that they weren't a matching pair. He had taken care of that himself and made them a set.

Please give us more chapters. We're stuck at 889 since November....
Can you give me more chapters please...
Can you give me more chapters? I was hoping for a happy ending with Ariel and Jayson. Janice with Wade, and if not, put her with Chad, Matt, or even Liam....
Nice and amazing story with gripping turns, but can you give more chapters? And please we need more romance as readers, it has been dragging on a lot, maybe romance, happy ending and end it soon....
