Jayson knew the pilot had understood him. Glancing in the rearview, he gave a calm command to the bodyguard in the driver's seat. "Ten o'clock. Step on it."
The bodyguard didn't flinch. He slammed the accelerator, pushing the car forward with precision.
From behind, Gustavo realized Jayson was still trying to escape. Leaning out of the sunroof with a megaphone in hand, he called out, "Sir, it seems like you know why I'm here. How about we stop and talk?"
He was enjoying the chase. Nothing thrilled him more than seeing someone cornered, especially someone as famous as Jayson.
His name carried weight even in Isbell. Among the younger generation, only Jayson could make it onto major news outlets and prestigious rankings.
Gustavo knew that Jayson had no way out.
The latter had been betrayed by someone close. Gustavo thought Jayson must be feeling desperate.
To be honest, if it weren't for Jayson, Gustavo probably wouldn't have realized just how much trouble Nancy had caused. What really frustrated him was that Jayson had gotten Nancy—the woman he hadn't won over—thrown in jail. That alone made him boil with anger. He wouldn't let it slide.
Jayson could hear Gustavo's voice. He cast a cold glance in the rearview mirror, then calmly stared ahead as the bodyguard drove toward the spot.
Gustavo chuckled. "You're still running? My guys are all around, sir. Might as well stop now."
Confidence radiated from him, but it didn't last two minutes. He suddenly sensed something was wrong.
He vaguely heard the sound of rotor blades coming from the direction Jayson was speeding toward.
Gustavo's face was drained of color. "Oh shit! Speed up! He's got an aircraft!"
But it was too late. Jayson had already reached his destination. He jumped out of the car with his bodyguard.
Wade maintained a hovering altitude that allowed easy boarding. Seeing Jayson and another man running toward him, he glanced back, but Ariel wasn't in sight. His brows furrowed beneath his helmet.
The rotor wash was intense.
Jayson raised an eyebrow, a flicker of surprise in his expression. It turned out that the man rescuing him was none other than Janice's fiance.
As he looked down, the ground was already fading from view.
Gustavo, watching the retreating aircraft, smashed his phone onto the ground in fury. "He actually got away? Do you think chances like this come around often, you idiots?"
His face was livid.
This had been part of a deal with Shane. If he eliminated Jayson, Shane would give him a share of the manufacturing market.
Once Jayson was dead, he wouldn't be able to come after him anyway.
But now the guy was gone, and the problem had just multiplied.
Gustavo cursed under his breath. How could he have anticipated a helicopter showing up to rescue him?

Can you give me more chapters please...
Can you give me more chapters? I was hoping for a happy ending with Ariel and Jayson. Janice with Wade, and if not, put her with Chad, Matt, or even Liam....
Nice and amazing story with gripping turns, but can you give more chapters? And please we need more romance as readers, it has been dragging on a lot, maybe romance, happy ending and end it soon....
