Dead at Heart (Ariel and Jayson) novel Chapter 848

Ariel understood the unspoken rules.

On her first day, she familiarized herself with a series of tasks fairly quickly.

On the top floor, Jayson twirled his pen and stared at the ring on his finger, barely paying attention to the report given to him. He was lost in thought.

Ariel had just graduated and was still young. Could she adapt to the ruthless corporate environment?

He wanted her to gain some experience, and the PR department was perfect for that, yet he couldn't help worrying.

"Mr. Larkin, public opinion about our autonomous driving division has been manipulated by competitors. The PR department has drafted three response plans. Would you like to review them?"

"PR department?" Jayson looked up and suddenly rose. "No need. I'll talk to Larry in person."

The executives were stunned. "In person?"

Was it really necessary?

Jayson ignored them and headed downstairs.

Bluum Corp Tower had two towers connected by a double-helix bridge, and the PR department was in the other tower.

Jayson arrived without notifying anyone.

When the PR department manager, Larry Rosario, spotted him, he quickly rushed out to welcome him.

A sea of people followed behind Jayson.

His gaze casually swept over the far end of the workspace. There, someone's head was bowed, and she was busy organizing documents.

He followed Larry into the office. The one-way glass allowed him to see outside, but all he could make out was the top of Ariel's head in the distance.

"Mr. Larkin, do you have any suggestions on these response plans?" Larry asked, nervous.

He had never seen such a scene. Jayson had come down in person. He even wondered if Jayson had rejected the plans and come down to scold him.

After all, no matter how big the problem had been before, Jayson had never come down personally.

"No. Just go through each plan with me in detail," Jayson replied, but his gaze was still focused on the scene outside.

In the end, she sat down to continue organizing her research materials.

Seeing that, Jayson frowned and turned to Arthur. "Prepare more snacks and cookies. We have our own coffee brand. Bring plenty over. Tell Larry to make sure everyone eats on time. Don't let new employees work overtime. Does he even know how to manage a team?"

Arthur was rendered speechless.

Wasn't Jayson the one who sent Ariel here to gain experience?

But he didn't dare say it out loud. He could only nod, then went to get things ready.

Jayson stayed, watching Ariel from a distance.

Ariel felt someone's gaze on her and turned.

Jayson reacted instantly, bending down sharply to hide behind the frosted glass and maintaining a posture that hardly looked dignified.

Still bent over, Jayson suddenly realized how ridiculous he was being.

He pressed his lips together and closed his eyes. What the hell was wrong with him?
