"Janice, that's a bit much." Wade didn't want to see her turn into someone so wicked and irrational.
"If you feel so sorry for her, then hurry home and comfort her. What are you doing here with me? Aren't you worried about breaking her heart if you leave her alone for too long?"
Janice couldn't deny that she had deliberately said those words to provoke Wade. She simply couldn't stand it anymore.
Already in pain, Wade's sudden appearance only made things worse.
It was impossible for Janice to keep her composure. As her body tensed with anger, the pain in her lower abdomen intensified.
Wade noticed immediately. He had long known that Janice suffered discomfort whenever her period came. He furrowed his brows and gently grabbed her wrist to support her. "Do you have any painkillers at home?"
He wasn't pretending to care. Wade wasn't the type to put on an act. Yet Janice could sense that something between them had shifted.
She knew she could never accept it once their relationship became tainted with things she despised. She was about to yank her hand away, but Wade's phone rang first. The caller ID flashed with Alicia's name.
Wade answered the phone on the first ring. This automatic reflex had gradually attached itself to him, now a deep-seated habit.
Janice could vaguely hear Alicia's faint voice, saying she felt unwell.
Wade's expression hardened. He subconsciously let go of Janice's wrist.
Janice felt as though she had been hurled into a dark, bottomless pit the moment Wade did that.
"Something urgent just came up. If you're the one spreading those rumors about Allie among our friends, I hope you'll stop and explain the truth to everyone." Wade's final remark cut deep before he turned to leave.
Suddenly, he halted. For some reason, Wade felt a slight ache in his heart as he took in Janice's pale face. But he couldn't ignore Alicia, who was sick.
"I'll come see you later. Wait for me."
He hadn't forgotten why he came today.
After all, Janice was the only one who had visited his place last night, and she was also the only one who had conflicts with Alicia.
Janice, weak and listless, tried to joke. "I've got a terrible hangover from partying too hard last night. Please don't cut my pay this month."
Chad snickered. "Do you think you're still young? You don't have what it takes to party all night anymore."
Janice groaned. "Did you really have to be so blunt?"
"I'm hanging up now, and yes, I'm still cutting your pay." Chad wasn't about to give her special treatment.
Janice gripped her phone, ready to protest, but he had already hung up.
She tossed the phone onto the couch, feeling indignant.
Exhausted from the menstrual pain, she sprawled back on the couch. Just as she was about to drift off, the doorbell rang.
Dragging herself to the door, she found a delivery person holding food from one of her favorite restaurants. Janice blinked in confusion. "I didn't order any food."

Please give us more chapters. We're stuck at 889 since November....
Can you give me more chapters please...
Can you give me more chapters? I was hoping for a happy ending with Ariel and Jayson. Janice with Wade, and if not, put her with Chad, Matt, or even Liam....
Nice and amazing story with gripping turns, but can you give more chapters? And please we need more romance as readers, it has been dragging on a lot, maybe romance, happy ending and end it soon....
