Divorce and Freedom No More Homemaker for Him novel Chapter 13

Troy was here, so it made sense that Bria had followed.

Bria was never the obedient, sheltered rich heiress. She loved adventure and the thrill of danger. Racing had caught her eye years ago, but her family shut that down. They assumed it was too risky. Bria turned her passion into collecting topend sports cars.

She even hosted a private car show once. All the rich kids of the Trensea had showed up to support her.

But none of those events had anything to do with Ayla.

Ayla ignored her and kept washing her hands.

Bria hadn’t expected to run into Ayla and to be dismissed like that.

She was surprised but not angry. She stepped up to the sink beside Ayla and turned on the water to wash her hand. Bria asked, almost casually, Skyla’s racing competition will start soon. How do you feel about that?

Her tone sounded normal, but she was really just trying to make Ayla uncomfortable.

Bria loved doing that sort of thing.

Ayla didn’t take the bait. Instead, she asked, You really like Skyla, don’t you?

Bria shot her a look, as if the question was stupid. Of course. What, you think I’d like you?

Ayla fell silent.

Bria pressed on. Tell me, Aylawhat’s there about you worth liking? If you can name even one thing, I’ll change my tune and say something nice about you.

Her words cut deep, yet her tone stayed light, almost casual.

Bria wasn’t as cold as Troy, but every word she spoke felt like a trap. It was its own kind of cruelty.

No surprisethey were siblings.

Ayla couldn’t communicate with her at all, so she stayed silent.

Bria frowned. Ayla’s reaction wasn’t what she wanted. No drama, no fun. But Bria pressed on. You must be curious why Skyla started racing, right?

Ayla was about to say she wasn’t curious, but Bria had already answered herself.

Skyla once watched Sol race. That’s when she fell in love with it. Now she’s basically a pro. Still nowhere near Sol, though. No one in this world could ever beat my idol.

Ayla froze for a second, her eyes showing a strange flicker.

Because of Sol?

Bria didn’t notice her expression. Instead, she drifted into memory, her eyes glowing with obsession and regret. It’s been so long since I’ve seen Sol. I’m her biggest fan. I almost met her once and almost got her autograph. Forget it. You wouldn’t get it anyway.”

She glanced at Ayla, her face full of disdain. And that’s exactly why I don’t like you. Talking to you about the things I love is pointless. You don’t understand a thing.

Ayla stayed silent again.

She hadn’t even said anything.

But Skyla’s not like you,Bria continued. She’s drawn to Sol, just like I am. We can talk. We can connect.

Bria’s voice softened with admiration. Skyla’s the most driven person I’ve ever seen. I’ve always loved racing, but I stayed in the stands as an audience. She didn’t. She trained day after day and pushed herself to become a real racer. Tell me, how many people could actually do that?

Bria grew up rich, spoiled, and used to the best of everything. She had seen the world and carried herself with pride.

Most people never even caught her attention.

But when it came to Skyla, Bria truly admired her. She praised Skyla in every word and every

tone.

The more she compared Skyla to Ayla, the more she looked down on Ayla. She mocked contemptuously, No wonder Troy doesn’t think highly about you. Look at yourself. Other than being pretty, you’ve got nothing that draws him in.

Bria dried her hands, but before walking out, she tossed in another jab. She’ll be racing soon. Try not to break down when she wins.

Ayla stayed silent.

After Bria left, someone gently tapped Ayla on the shoulder.

She turned and saw Halle.

Halle raised an eyebrow. Ms. Keaton, tell mehow did you hold back from slapping her silly?

Ayla thought to herself, if she had slapped Bria, she would never survive in Trensea.

And Kaleb would get dragged down with her.

Therefore, she simply smiled and responded with a tease. Because I’m a coward.”

Coward,Halle said with a click of her tongue, then added, But I get it. I wouldn’t want to mess with her family too.

The Winstons were one of the most powerful families in Trensea. If you wanted to stay in the game, you couldn’t afford to cross them.

Still, Halle’s dark humor slipped through. Slapping Bria wouldn’t feel good enough. If she ever finds out you’re Solthat would be the real knockout punch.

She was right. Ayla was Solthe underground racer who vanished years ago.

After her mother’s accident, Ayla was crushed by grief. She threw herself into extreme sports.

The rush was the only thing that silenced her mind. The moment her body surrendered to raw speed, her brain stopped spinning. For a while, she could stop thinking about pain and loss, living only in the wild thump of her heartbeat, pumped by adrenaline.

Racing was just one of the sports she tried.

For Ayla, it was never about fame. It was only an outlet. That’s why she never entered real competitions. She never wanted to step into the spotlight. Instead, she stuck to the

underground scene, where her identity could stay hidden.
