Chapter 131 Don’t Be Scared

Troy hated that Ayla had schemed her way into Martin’s favor and basically forced him to marry her.

After everything she’d done to piss him off, he actually found himself walking into her room, thinking about her.

The second he realized it, he felt ridiculous.

Usually, he would have lost his temper with Ayla. He was the type who could walk away and never look back. She was the one who should be working to coax him home, bending over backward and flattering him.

But now, everything had flipped.

A strange, indescribable anger rose in him. It was about Ayla, but also about losing control over the situation and over himself.

So what if he had lost control?

One thing never changedhe’d never had feelings for her.

Even if she left for good, why should it matter to him?

Thinking that, Troy let out a cold laugh, spun on his heel, and stormed out, slamming the door behind him.

Every year, Ayla would plan something special for their anniversary.

He’d already given her a way out. She’d better take it, or he’d never forgive her.

Laura kept peeking upstairs. Seeing Troy enter Ayla’s room, she was extremely shocked.

It was the first time he’d ever gone in there.

If Ayla had seen that, she probably would’ve moved to tears.

If Ayla hadn’t blocked her, Laura would have called her immediately with the good news.

All the fuss Ayla pulled was actually working. If she came back now, things between her and Troy might be different.

Laura watched Ayla leave today. All afternoon, she’d been thinking about the two of them. Skyla was nice, but Laura was oldschool. She believed Ayla fit Troy better.

Right now, all she wanted was for them to work things out. But she couldn’t reach Ayla

Just as she sighed, a loud thud came from upstairs. Troy stormed down, phone preved to his ear, face dark as a storm cloud.

Laura heard Skyla’s name. A few moments later, he drove off.

She clenched her hands in the courtyard, realizing Troy hadn’t changed one bit toward Ayla

Good thing she couldn’t reach Ayla. Or it would’ve just been false hope.

The next day.

To calm Emmett and Kaleb, Ayla quickly wired the money and signed the contract

She became a major shareholder in Dimensia Labs. Kaleb and Emmett invested both tech and cash, so they held bigger shares. Daytoday control stayed with them.

At 3:00 p.m., Ayla grabbed her suitcase for the weeklong trip and stood on Draven’s doorstep -basically her own doorstep.

Draven came out almost at the same time. He was punctual as always.

Usually dressed in suits or sportswear, he wore casual clothes today.

Tall, striking, and effortlessly noble, he looked like a male model who could wear anything and still turn heads.

Ayla greeted him briefly, and they headed to the airport.

It was a threehour flight.

Only Ayla and Draven went today. Will and the others would join a few days later.

Company policy put Ayla in economy, but Draven upgraded her. They sat side by side.

Once seated, Draven leaned back with his eyes closed. Ayla opened her predownloaded files.

Before long, a business card slid toward her.

Ayla glanced up at the man. He looked sharp and professional. He leaned in and whispered, I’m a talent agent. You have the looks for movies. Want to hear more?

Before she could answer, a slim hand reached over and grabbed the card.

The agent looked at Draven and froze.

He didn’t know him, but Draven’s presence was overwhelming, and his looks were intimidating The agent tensed, then forced a smile and leaned back quietly.

Draven held the thin card for a moment before flicking it straight into the trash.

Ayla hadn’t said a word, and he had already closed his eyes again.

He’d had his eyes shut the whole time. The agent had even spoken softly. How did he notice everything?

Was he awake?

Just as the thought crossed her mind, the plane shuddered.

A flight attendant came over, announcing strong turbulence and asking everyone to stay calm.

Ayla tried to relax, but the shaking kept going. The cabin grew tense. Someone screamed. Fear spread row by row, while the attendants did their best to calm people.

Ayla gripped the armrest, trying to push away the panic building in her head.

Suddenly, something warm touched the back of her hand.

She jerked her head around. Draven’s gaze was calm. Don’t be scared.”
