“Why are you calling me?” Ayla asked.

“About that flash drive. I want to thank you,” Halle said.

“That’s nothing,” Ayla replied. “You called for something else, right?”

“I’m coming back tomorrow. I’ll be with you.”

Ayla suddenly sensed something off. “Did something happen? I’m giving you one last chance. Tell me.”

“It’s just…” Then Kaleb’s voice suddenly switched to Emmett’s.

“Kaleb’s checking on you. He wants to know about the divorce tomorrow!”

A crash sounded on the other end. Kaleb must’ve shoved Emmett and grabbed the phone back. Then Kaleb growled, “Don’t listen to him. It’s not a big deal. I just want to warn you this, if you suddenly decide not to get divorced, I’m cutting ties with you. Ayla, I’m serious. I’m not joking!”
