Chapter 175 Seduction Game
They were only about an inch apart. That was already a very close distance.
Max handed the drink he just poured to Ayla.
Ayla lifted her hand, ready to push it away.

Max suddenly paused. He studied her and frowned. “How much did you drink?”
Ayla blinked. “Not a lot.”
Max scrunched his nose in irritation. “You reeked of alcohol.”
Ayla clamped her mouth.
James smacked Max on the forehead. “Can you not ruin the mood?”
Max wasn’t ready for it and almost fell right onto Ayla. He could’ve caught himself.
But that tiny surprise “threw” him off.
Ayla moved fast. She caught Max’s head with her hand, steadying him as she stood up. “James, that’s enough. Who messes with their own cousin like that?”
James clicked his tongue. “Oh? Feeling protective now? Max is trouble down to his bones. He’s tricked me so many times, I’m just collecting interest.”
Ayla let go once Max sat straight again.
Most of the touch had been on his hair, but as her hand slipped away, her fingers brushed a bit of skin.
Ayla didn’t notice.
Max’s heart jumped hard in his chest.
For a second, he thought being Ayla’s male escort didn’t sound too bad.
Max followed along with her tone. “Don’t listen to James He’s the one who bullies me all the time.”
James shot back, “Oh, stop it, Max, you’ve been a two–face since you were a kid!”
Max laughed in disbelief. “You really have the nerve to call me that?”
James turned to Ayla. “Hey, Ayla. You need to be the judge!”
Max was still replaying that small accidental touch but dn’t show anything on his face. “Yeah, Ayla, you be the judge.”
Ayla said, “You two figure it out yourselves.”
And she walked out of the room.
Casey jumped up right away to follow her.
Max was speechless.

If he wasn’t imagining it, Casey had deliberately leaned gainst Ayla earlier.
Max had kept a full inch between them.
Darn it!

James noticed the storm in Max’s eyes and shivered in disgust. “Seriously? You’re actually mad at me? You can’t even take a joke now. You were way more fun as a kid!”
Max snapped, “You don’t know anything.”
James shrugged. “What’s so bad about being a male escort anyway? Life’s all about trying new things. Makes it interesting.”
Max ignored him. His mind was somewhere else.
He wondered if he should follow Ayla outside.
But if he chased after her, what would he even say?
If he wanted something to happen between them, he needed a way to stay in her life.
He could help her with something, so she’d owe him.
Or better, let Ayla help him first, then he’d return the famor.
Yeah, the second option sounded much better.
Max was still lost in his thoughts when he suddenly stood up. He glanced at James–his new tool–and offered a smile that didn’t reach his eyes.
Without a word, he walked out.
James rolled his eyes at him.
Then he pulled out his phone and changed Max’s contact name to “Max the Escort.” He checked their group chat. No messages.
Wait! Max had made such a scene. Draven didn’t notice any of it?
Max returned to the private lounge he came from and found only Skyla and Rolf inside. “Where’s Troy?” he asked.
Skyla replied, “He went to the restroom.”
Max went to look for him.
Ayla stepped out of the restroom after washing her hands.
As soon as she came back, Casey naturally handed her a napkin and gently dried her hands for her.
Ayla asked, “How long have you been doing this job?”
“Two weeks,” Casey said. “Part–time for now.”

“What’s your day job?”
“I’m about to graduate from college.”
Ayla raised a brow. “Can’t afford school?”

“It’s not that. I’m studying acting,” Casey said. “I just dont have the resources to land roles. I work on film crews during the day, and at night I come here. I meet all kinds of people; it helps me build experience for acting.” Then he quickly added, “And I don’t sell my body. I just give the ladies a little emotional support.”
Ayla paused. “Aren’t you afraid this becomes a scandal later if you become famous?”
Casey shrugged. “If I get insanely popular, this small scandal won’t matter. The agency won’t even blink. And if I don’t get famous, well, a scandal is still publicity.”
He looked at her with a grin. “So, did I give you enough emotional support?”
Ayla had come to relax.
Casey matched her mood perfectly. He was smoother than she expected.
She used to treat Troy the same way–gentle, thoughtful, trying to make him feel good. And yet he always pulls a long face at her.
Was it because he took her for granted?
Maybe she had tried too hard to earn his love. Maybe she gave too much.
Casey noticed her spacing out. “Ayla?”
Before she could answer, a strong force suddenly shoved Casey aside.
He stumbled several steps before regaining balance–luckily he reacted fast.
Then he saw a tall man blocking Ayla’s front like a storm cloud. Troy. His face was dark and terrifying as he demanded, “Who is he?”
Ayla stared at Troy’s stormy expression. All she could think about was the after their divorce was finalized; she ran into him again.
