Chapter 275 Too Late to Regret
Troy seemed completely different from his cold image at the company,
Isabella was now absolutely certain. Troy regretted the divorce.
She stepped forward with concern. “Mr. Winston, is your head okay?”
Troy didn’t speak, and Isabella didn’t ask again. She returned his phone, then went to the pharmacy to buy bandages and came back.
Seeing Isabella return, Troy frowned hard. “Why are you back?”
“You should have your head wrapped,” she said.
Troy thought of how Ayla had swung the ashtray without mercy and smashed it into his head. In the past, even a small injury would’ve made Ayla look at him with worry and pain.
Now, there was nothing left.
Troy’s mood had sunk to rock bottom. He didn’t even want to talk.
Reading the room, Isabella gathered her courage and stepped forward to disinfect the wound.
Troy didn’t refuse. He silently waited for her to finish dressing it.
Isabella tested the waters. “Mr. Winston, it’s late. Should I have the driver take you home?”
Troy glanced at the time. It was very late. There was no point staying here. Even the alcohol he used to love now tasted bitter going down.
With a dark expression, Troy stood up.
Isabella quickly contacted the driver and had the car pull up at the club entrance.
On the way back, Troy kept his eyes closed, resting. The alcohol made his head spin, but he couldn’t fall asleep.
When the car arrived, he slowly opened his eyes, got out, and went inside.
The house was pitch–black. Troy turned on the lights. The huge living room was empty. No one was on the couch.
He called out, “Laura.”

Still no answer. Instead, his own voice echoed back at him.
With a grim face, Troy took out his phone and realized Laura was off today.
Laura had a day off every week, but tonight was the one night he couldn’t be alone in this house. At that moment, Troy’s emotions suddenly exploded.
He immediately called Laura. He had no patience at all. It took five seconds, then the call finally connected.
“Mr. Winston…”
“Laura!” Troy almost shouted. “Come back now!”
Laura was stunned. “O–okay…”
Troy hung up. After that burst of anger, his strength drained away. He walked to the couch and lay down where Ayla used to sit, closing his eyes.
He didn’t know how long had passed before the villa door opened.
Someone was calling him.
“Mr. Winston, wake up.”
Troy groggily opened his eyes. “Ayla…”
“You’re awake!” Laura finally relaxed. Hearing him shout on the phone, she’d thought something terrible had happened and rushed over immediately.
Troy fully came to his senses and saw it was Laura. A huge wave of disappointment crashed over him.
He closed his eyes again.
He didn’t want to face reality.
Knowing Troy had been in a bad mood lately, Laura didn’t rush him. Smelling the strong alcohol on him, she went to the kitchen to make lemon tea.
Sounds came from the kitchen, like white noise. As Troy listened, the agitation in his heart eased a little.

If the person busy in the kitchen were Ayla, he would’ve been happy.
He truly wished Ayla would come back.
Troy could no longer lie to himself. He slowly opened his eyes and sat up. The pine–shaped glass cup was still on the coffee table. He picked it up and looked at it carefully.
Until Laura brought over the lemon tea.
Seeing the tea made Troy think of Ayla. Over the past three years, she’d made it for him countless times. He lifted the cup and drank it quietly.
After finishing, Troy took the glass cup and went to the study,
Watching his back, Laura sighed softly. Mr. Winston must be thinking of Ms. Keaton. Otherwise, he wouldn’t have asked me to repair the glass cup and place it in the study.
Ms. Keaton gave him so many gifts back then, and he didn’t even look at them.
Only after the divorce did he start missing her.
If he knew it would come to this, why hurt her in the first place?
Laura still remembered how resolute Ayla had been when she left.
She really wouldn’t turn back.
Laura hoped Troy would move forward soon.
There was a shelf in the study. Troy placed the cup on it.
He had just sat down when his phone rang.
It was Edgar.
It was a work call. Troy had no mood to deal with it.
He hung up, but it rang again.
Troy frowned and answered anyway. “Speak.”
“There’s a serious supply chain issue. You need to come in personally.”
Edgar had his own company overseas and was also the head of Winston Group’s Moblosia

“What happened?” Troy asked coldly. “Everything was fine before.”
