Chapter 410 Hold on to Me
The kiss was fierce at first, then gentle, then forceful again.
Ayla’s mind went completely blank from it. She was almost out of breath. With her knee injured, she didn’t dare move around, so she could only let Draven take control.
She was a little startled too.
Kissing this hard… would it get out of hand?
Some bad past experiences made her instinctively resist anything more intimate. Ayla subconsciously pushed at Draven.
Draven immediately let go of her.
He had always been respectful with her.
That made Ayla feel extremely safe. Draven had been disciplined and restrained for so many years. People had gossiped about his build and the raw male presence he gave off, saying he looked like someone who could go all night, yet he’d never had a woman by his side. That alone proved he wasn’t driven by that kind of desire. Even the last time at Aqualith, when the drug had affected him, he’d still managed to stop himself. If it weren’t because he truly had little interest in that area, there was no other explanation.
Ayla instantly felt a huge weight lift off her shoulders.
Besides, they had just gotten together. Nothing was certain yet. There was plenty of time.
The kiss ended. Draven’s rapid breathing looked nothing like his usual calm, reserved self.
Ayla liked seeing him like this. She stared at him without blinking.
Draven was so affected by her gaze that his body was close to reacting, while she seemed completely unaware. He sighed inwardly. Being able to kiss her was already enough.
With that thought, his eyes fell on her lips.
They were even redder now from how hard he’d kissed her.
Draven’s sharp Adam’s apple slid up and down as he suppressed the savage beast inside him. He put on his usual cool demeanor and kissed her cheek, deliberately “innocent.”
Ayla liked that too.
Sure enough, she preferred intimacy that didn’t go too far.
Draven couldn’t help himself and lightly nipped at her neck.
The soft press of his lips made Ayla feel ticklish. Her head tilted back on its own, exposing the graceful line of her neck. The unexpected sensuality only stimulated Draven more.
Draven released her in time.
They had just gotten together. He was probably too excited. He’d nearly let instinct and raw impulse take over, like some beast, completely at odds with his usual polished self.
Draven forced himself to stop thinking further.
He was aware of the subtle shift in the air between them. The excitement. The awkwardness.
Having a girlfriend was a brand-new experience for Draven.
So for now, he just wanted to enjoy this different atmosphere between them. Enjoy how it felt to be a boyfriend. Enjoy what it felt like to have a girlfriend.
As for everything else, there would be time later
Once Draven realized his feelings for Ayla, he went from monk-like restraint to strong desire overnight. He couldn’t control that. But since they had just started dating, he could only maintain a “pure and innocent” image for now. He dipped his chin slightly and looked at her. “Sorry.”
Ayla’s breathing finally evened out.
Ayla froze.
She wanted the ground to swallow her whole.
Draven was shocked too. He paused for several seconds.
Ayla didn’t want to look at him at all anymore.
Draven, ever assertive, cupped her chin and turned her face toward him to check on her. “Seeing that her color looked fine, and she seemed clear-headed, he relaxed a lot.
Then he raised an eyebrow and asked seriously, in his low, pleasant voice, “I kissed you until you threw up. Does that mean you like me too much, or that you can’t stand me?”
Ayla almost rolled her eyes.
How could he even say something like that?
This CEO, who’s clearly been plotting for me all along is such a sly fox.
If this were before, I bet he wouldn’t have dared to tease me like this!
Ayla glared at him, embarrassed and annoyed.
Draven let out a short laugh and spared her dignity by not continuing the teasing.
The CEO stood up, then bent down again. His broad shoulders filled her view.
He pointed at his neck and smiled into her eyes. Hold on to me?
