Chapter 415 Taking the Leap
Ayla said, “There’ll come a day when he gives up
Draven didn’t think so. “I’ll keep an eye on him.”
This score wasn’t settled yet, but how he planned to handle it didn’t need to be explained to Ayla.
Ayla gave a soft hum.
Draven asked her, “That kiss on the plane. Was that just for him to see, too?”
Ayla said, “At first, it was acting. But once I kissed you, I didn’t have the headspace to keep acting anymore.” She couldn’t help looking at his lips. “By the way, you’re really good at kissing.”
Draven stopped her before she could say more. Don’t get ideas. I’ve only ever kissed you.”
Ayla smiled. “Okay.”
Draven pressed a kiss to her cheek. “Men are naturally gifted in this area.”
Ayla nodded. “Sure.”
Draven proved it with actions. He cupped the back of Ayla’s head and captured her lips.
This kiss wasn’t as intense as the previous two. It was gentle, lingering, and tender, so soft that it made her whole body go numb. Ayla tightened her arms around his neck. He wrapped an arm around her waist. As the kiss deepened, Ayla pushed him down onto the couch.
In the midst of kissing and moving, Ayla’s robe loosened at the collar. Draven lowered his head and caught a glimpse. The sight hit hard. He looked away, his Adam’s apple bobbing.
Draven brushed a kiss against the corner of her ps, his voice low. “Do you wanna keep going?”
Ayla said, “I believe what you said now. You really do get better every time.”
Ayla climbed off him, only then noticing how open her collar was. Startled, she covered herself right away and fixed it.
Draven stood up as well.
Ayla turned her face to the side.
Draven reached out and turned her face back.
Ayla stared at him, silently warning him not to bring it up. The man chuckled softly. A mature man could probably read his girlfriend’s thoughts at a glance. He played along perfectly. “I’m gonna wash up.”
Ayla was satisfied. “Alright.”
While Draven was in the bathroom, Halle had already arranged for someone to deliver Ayla’s suitcase. Ayla took off her robe and changed into her own pajamas.
Ayla’s phone screen was badly cracked, but it still worked. She removed Draven from her block list. That had all been Troy’s doing.
She was in a good mood and didn’t think much of it. She texted Halle to say the luggage had arrived.
But getting together with Draven was a big deal, and Halle had to be the first to know. As for Kaleb, he already knew, so there was no need to say anything.
Halle picked up almost immediately. “So? How did it go?”
Ayla said, “Draven and I are together now.”
The moment Ayla heard her crying, she couldn’t hold it together either. She wiped at the tears that kept falling. “I really want to hug you right now.”
Halle said, “Okay. I’ll turn into Superman and fly over.”
Ayla laughed. The two laughed and cried at the same time.
Ayla said, “Don’t worry. I’ll always be by your side.”
Halle said, “I know. Our company still has to go public, and we still have to travel around the world together.”
Ayla said, “Yeah. I won’t forget our promise.”
Halle said teasingly, “Tonight, you stay right there with Mr. Storm. I’ll come find you tomorrow.”
Ayla said, “Okay. See you tomorrow.”
Halle hung up and was still wiping her tears. When Ayla was with Troy, she couldn’t offer her blessing, because the man just wasn’t it.
But Draven was completely different from Troy Ayla had met someone truly good. From the bottom of her heart, Halle was happy for her. She loved seeing Ayla doing better and better. It made her happier too.
Suddenly, the hotel doorbell rang.
Halle was hungry and had ordered a late-night delivery. Thinking it was the food, she opened the door.
“Ms. Kinsman, your package has arrived.”
The one speaking was James. He was dressed flashy, like he was about to walk a runway, yet here he was, doing delivery work.
