Troy was wounded by Ayla’s indifferent attitude. His face went pale as he spoke each word clearly. “Ayla, you’re so cruel!”

Ayla’s gaze stayed cool. “Stop throwing mud at me like you’ve been wronged by the whole world. Troy, I’m a softhearted person.”

Troy let out a cold, deeply mocking laugh. “Softhearted If you’re softhearted, then did you even frown when you see me like this, so humiliated? Did you say a single gentle word? Did you comfort me at all?”

He had already lowered himself and tried to talk to her properly. He had compromised to a point he’d never imagined. Did she even know how much he had changed, how much he had sacrificed, just so she would come back?

Troy looked at her, as if weighing his options.

Ayla didn’t dodge his gaze. That kind of honest, almost sincere look was lethal because they had no weakness at all.

He would rather Ayla explode like before. Anger, rage, anxiety–those were her weak points. Troy could always glimpse her thoughts through her emotions. That was better than this complete calm, while he was losing control more and more.
