Ayla buried her entire face against Draven’s chest, not daring to look at anything at all. Her head turned one way while her hands were very clearly doing something else entirely.
Draven wrapped an arm around her waist, kissing her cheek, her neck, her shoulder again and again. By her ear came a low, restrained sound she had never heard from a man before.
After it was over, Draven rubbed her wrist gently, a hint of guilt in his voice. “Sorry.”
There was absolutely no trace of apology on his face.
Ayla ignored him. But after what had just happened, they somehow felt even closer–though really, after that, how could they not be?
“What are you thinking about?” Draven asked, the pressure of his hands on her arm incredibly soothing.
Ayla actually was thinking about something. After a long pause, she finally worked up the courage to ask, “You won’t… always take this long in the future, right?”
Just the thought of it had already been scary enough. If it were always like that too, she’d really have to sit down and think this through seriously–mental preparation, expectations, all of it. This was clearly not as simple as she’d imagined. There was a lot she wasn’t ready for yet.
Draven had already benefited plenty, so now he was very good at reading Ayla’s expression and saying exactly what she wanted to hear. “Don’t worry. I won’t.”
At the moment, he had pulled himself back into the upright, restrained version of himself–the calm, disciplined Draven she was most familiar with. His attention was fully on her wrist and arm, kneading carefully. No matter what he did, he radiated steadiness and reliability.
But earlier…
Damn it. Ayla really liked that side of Draven, too–it just went a bit beyond her imagination.
She stared at him, unconvinced. “… I don’t think I can just trust that.”
Draven thought seriously before answering. “I can control the timing.”
Ayla shot back immediately. “Did you control it just now?”
Draven replied calmly, “You were helping me. I was very excited. If I take care of it myself, it’s fast.”
Ayla was completely blocked by that answer. She had no room to argue–after all, how was she supposed to know how long he lasted on his own? After thinking it over, she asked, “If you’re that fast by yourself, why didn’t you just handle it alone? Why did you insist on having me help?”
Only after saying it did Ayla realize she’d been led by the nose.
Wow, Draven. That was low.
He looked so proper–how could he trick her into doing it herself? He’d clearly used her worry against her, taking advantage of her soft heart.

Even under her accusing gaze, Draven remained perfectly composed. He’d planned all along to help Ayla build psychological readiness step by step. He wanted to pace things carefully. Showing her his more dangerous side too abruptly would’ve scared his girlfriend.
Progression mattered. And with the mood being that good, how could he possibly give up such a perfect opportunity?
The moment Ayla softened, he naturally pushed a little further.
In this area, he was simply a very honest man.
“Ayla, I want you to help me,” Draven said, looking straight into her eyes.
He’d even discovered something new tonight–how to capture Ayla’s full attention. Sometimes, acting serious worked best.
Ayla had no idea how calculating Draven actually was. His earnest expression hit her square in the chest.
Thinking about it carefully, it didn’t seem unreasonable.
And she’d also noticed–Draven would sometimes, without warning, take the lead and push their relationship forward, decisively.
It wasn’t that Ayla lacked self–control. The powerful CEO had his own careful strategies. She’d just walked right into them without realizing it.
After all, earlier that night, it wasn’t just that she relied on him–her desire to kiss him had also been deliberately drawn out by Draven.
So calculating.
Was Draven secretly a fox? A scheming fox in a tailored suit and tie?
Ayla suddenly stared at him hard.
Draven curved his lips slightly, having done every bad thing imaginable yet still playing innocent. “Why are you looking at me like that?”
Ayla didn’t bother answering. She pointed toward the bedroom door. “For the sake of your health, you’re sleeping in your room tonight. Not with me.”
Draven looked genuinely surprised. “What–were you planning to do something else to me?”
That surprise was definitely fake.
At this point, Ayla could no longer tell where Draven’s sincerity ended and his scheming began.
“My hands are already sore. What else could I possibly do to you?”
A faint chuckle slipped from Draven’s lips.
