Chapter 502 Birthday
Bang!
The phone slammed onto the floor, and the screen shattered into cracks.

The makeup artist almost jumped. She had no idea why Bria suddenly snapped. She’d only bought that phone a few days ago.
But she didn’t dare complain. She asked carefully, “Bria, what’s wrong?”
“Shut up.” Bria glared at her.
The makeup artist immediately went silent.
“What are you staring at? Keep going. It’s my birthday makeup. Do it right. Got it?”
With no choice, the makeup artist continued as if nothing had happened.
Bria sat there silently, letting the anger slowly sink in. The more she thought about it, the madder she got. Her fighting spirit burned even hotter, like she was determined to tame him.
Not long after, her phone rang.
She picked it up and glanced at the screen. It was Skyla.
It’s her?
Bria thought for a moment, then answered.
“Bria, happy birthday,” Skyla said. She explained she’d been busy and added that Troy would bring Bria a gift.
Bria replied half–heartedly and hung up, even rolling her eyes.
She wasn’t interested in any gift.
How could anything compare to the surprise Ayla was bringing her later?
Even the concept car from her brother couldn’t compete with that.
Bria was naturally fickle. Her tastes were the same.
Right now, she felt nothing toward Skyla.
Skyla’s racing skills were impressive, and she’d always been Troy’s friend. She had a good education, a solid career, and decent hobbies. Everything looked good on paper.
Back when Bria hated Ayla, comparing the two made Skyla seem better.
But now that Troy was divorced and there was no sister–in–law, there was nothing to compare.

So Bria judged Skyla on her own. Without a reference, she felt Skyla wasn’t that special. What about her really matched Troy?
Skyla’s biggest advantage was that Troy barely had any female friends and wasn’t interested in women. Being the only woman in his circle made her stand out.
No wonder Bria once wondered why Troy let Skyla go abroad and then married Ayla instead. It was simple. After all those years, he never fell for Skyla. The feeling just wasn’t there.
Of course, Troy treated Skyla well, giving her money, gifts, and even a house. There was a bit of special treatment there. Otherwise, Skyla wouldn’t have stayed so long.
Ayla probably couldn’t stand that, which led to the divorce.
Bria suddenly felt her brother deserved it. He brought it on himself.
Still, marrying Ayla had been his choice. No one forced him. As for why, no one really knew.
Lately, Bria had been around Ayla more.
Her view of Ayla changed after the night Ayla caused a scene at Martin’s birthday. Ayla did what Bria never could. As much as she hated to admit it, it was impressive.
And Ayla knew Sol. Even if Bria treated Ayla as a tool to get closer to her idol, knowing Sol alone made Ayla special.
Maybe she only respected people who could do what she couldn’t.
Bria was exactly that type.
If she had to choose now, she’d pick Ayla.
Because Ayla was more useful to her.
It wasn’t because she liked her.
In fact, Ayla still annoyed her–especially her attitude.
And yeah, that hurt.
She once hated Ayla so much that she couldn’t stand her. Now she wished Ayla were still her sister–in–law.
Bria didn’t care. Even if reality slapped her again, that had been how she felt back then. If it happened again, she still wouldn’t have liked Ayla.
Her mindset had just shifted. That was all.
She even suspected Troy felt worse than she did. Watching it all from the side almost made her giddy.
Thinking about it, Bria wanted Ayla to come with Sol, so she called her.
Ayla answered with the same impatience Kaleb had.
