Chapter 561 Brothers

The bodyguards holding Jed both stepped back without thinking. Once Draven lowered his hand, they realized what they had done, Shock filled their faces. Sweat ran down their backs.
Draven turned to Troy. “I don’t want to see Jed anywhere in Trensea again.”
Troy had already decided the same thing.
He would never allow anyone who could threaten their family to exist. Jed knew that. Yet he still did something this stupid. That made it even less forgivable.
But Troy hated how he and Draven always understood each other without speaking. He hated it deeply.
He didn’t answer Draven’s words. He was still shocked that Draven had brought up their childhood. After a moment, Troy finally spoke. “You said the same thing to Ayla,” he said quietly. “Like you were saying goodbye to me.”
“But did I ever agree to that?” He looked straight at Draven. “Did you always want to hear me call you ‘brother‘ when we were kids?”
Draven frowned.
“Brother.”
Troy called him suddenly.
Surprise flashed across Draven’s eyes.
Troy smiled at him. The smile was full of mockery, yet also held a strange kind of acceptance. Like he didn’t care about anything anymore. “We’ll owe each other forever,” Troy said. “We’ll be tied together until we die. That’s what happens when I’m your little brother.”
Someone started banging on the door.
Neither Troy nor Draven moved.
Troy kept talking. “So you’re saying you forget about the past? Fine. Thanks for forgiving me. But you also said I was innocent. So I won’t apologize for bullying you when we were kids.”
He paused. “But after this, we’re not going to act like some touching story about loving brothers, right? Dad would love that. A happy family scene.” He let out a cold laugh. “I won’t play along. If I do, things might be worse. Might even break Dad’s heart.
“Draven, I grew up carrying the pressure of you existing. So now, you need to accept that you have a completely terrible little brother who’s going to mess up your life. You never cared about me. And I never cared about you. That’s fine. That’s how we’ve always been.”
Troy paused, like he had just remembered something.
“Oh, right. I forgot something. Didn’t get to say it yesterday. Happy birthday, Draven.”

Chapter 561 Brothers
After saying that, Troy let out a cold laugh.
He watched Draven’s ugly expression while walking toward the door.
Max and James were standing right outside. Behind them were Ayla and the others.

Ayla immediately checked both of them. The last two times, they had fought. Luckily, nothing happened this time. She let out a quiet breath.
Everyone else reacted the same way.
They all felt relieved.
Max frowned deeply. “You two done talking?”
Troy looked across the group, then at Max. “Why are you so nervous? I was just talking with my big brother. Is that a problem?”
Everyone jaw dropped.
Their expression changed instantly.
“Big brother?” Max froze and almost laughed. Had Troy finally lost his mind? Calling Draven his big brother?
Max had watched them grow up. He never thought the brothers could ever end up like this. He always disliked James. And now Troy and Draven were going to act like loving brothers?
Yeah, right. No way.
Troy had to be crazy.
Draven pressed his lips tightly together. His eyes stayed fixed on the back of Troy’s head.
Troy turned and looked at Draven. His eyes were sharp and cold. That “big brother” clearly wasn’t meant in a good way.
After speaking, Troy gave Ayla one last deep look before he left.
Jed was dragged away by the bodyguards.
Max and Isabella followed Troy out.
Draven stayed where he was. His hand slowly tightened into a fist.
James wanted to say something to Max, but Max walked too fast.
The atmosphere was already terrible.
