Chapter 572 Home Invite
Finisherk
Shirley wasn’t sure if it was just her imagination, but even though the hand pressing on her shoulder was gentle, it made her feel a lot of pressure.
When Shirley looked more closely, she was suddenly drawn in by Bria’s deep, beautiful eyes. She thought to herself, Someone this pretty, how could she possibly be lying to me?
Shirley nodded. “Okay”
The corner of Bria’s mouth lifted slightly. Her friendly smile almost slipped, but she managed to hold it steady. “You’ll stay here for now and wait for my notice.”
“Then my original company…” Just thinking about how her agent had forced her to drink and sent her to see the producer made Shirley bite her lip. She was angry and resentful. “I signed a ten–year contract. It’s only been one year.”
Bria smiled. “Don’t worry. Leave it to me.”
Just those light words made Shirley feel that it really could be handled easily.
Bria leaned in and whispered, “By the way, that producer who bullied you… There will be a surprise tonight.”
After the presidential suite door closed, Bria’s expression changed instantly. The friendly smile disappeared, replaced by her usual arrogant look. She raised an eyebrow and sneered without mercy. “Holy shit, she believed me after just a few words? That was way too easy. So stupid,
Andrew glanced at her. “What do you expect from someone who grew up in a small place? You grew up listening to talk about fundraising and asset mergers at the dinner table. How could she have the same kind of perspective?”
Bria had already been investing her allowance with friends in five–star hotels when she was barely ten.
Because she was too lazy to take the position her brother Troy arranged for her, her investments over the years had grown to a considerable scale and now required a professional finance team to manage them.
“Never mind, I get it.” Bria finished speaking, then shot Andrew a warning look. “From today on, Shirley is my little sister. You treat her the same way you treat me. Got it?”
Andrew looked at Bria like she was an idiot. “What, are you gay?”
“Get lost. I practice the path of no emotions. I don’t love men or women.”
Bria rolled her eyes hard.
It wasn’t like she hadn’t played with men before. She had a first love, and she had hired plenty of male escorts over the years. She had seen top–tier handsome guys, but overall, men were just okay.
As for women… Even if it was a little outrageous, if it were her idol Ayla, she wouldn’t mind making a small sacrifice and pretending to swing the other way…

She stopped wasting words on Andrew. Once Bria got in the car, she couldn’t wait to call Ayla.
Andrew, who was driving, stared at Bria like he’d seen a ghost.
The Bria in front of Shirley was just an act.
But the way Bria was sucking up to Ayla now came from deep inside her heart.
Damn. Bria didn’t even act this way toward her terrifyingly powerful older brother, Troy.
“Ayla, it’s me. Have you eaten yet?
“I hope I’m not bothering you… Actually, it’s like this. I met a young actress at a party. We hit it off, but her old company bullied her. I wanted to send her to your company… No, no, I’m really not joking… How about we meet up? Once you see her for yourself, you’ll know. I’m not lying!”
Bria had already had industry insiders screen her in advance. Ayla’s company was just starting out and badly needed talent. If she passed up a future “Best Actress” with real potential, she’d have to be out of her mind.
Sure enough, Ayla agreed.
“That’s great, Ayla! Where should we meet? Actually, it depends on your schedule. You know I have nothing to do, I’m free anytime.”
Ayla really wasn’t used to this overly flattering Bria. She was usually busy, but since it was the weekend, she had half a day to rest at home and didn’t want to go out. So she said directly, “Why don’t you come to my place first and tell me about her?”
“Go to your place?” Bria was so shocked she almost jumped up in the car.
“If you don’t want to come, wait until I’m free, but I’ve been very busy lately…”
“I’m coming! I’m definitely coming!”
How could she not go? Bria had no idea what kind of life Ayla was living after the divorce, and she was very
curious.
“One hour later, around five. Just come then.”
“Okay, great!” Bria hung up and grabbed Andrew’s hand. “She actually invited me to her house!”
Andrew was completely stunned. “Ms. Winston, didn’t you say you practice the path of no emotions? Just who is this demon that’s got you losing your mind?”
“Didn’t you hear the name I said? Ayla,” Bria asked, “You don’t remember who Ayla is?”
Andrew actually thought about it for a moment. When it finally clicked, he was even more shocked. “She’s your brother’s wife? So after all that, she’s your sister–in–law.”
“She divorced my brother. She’s not my sister–in–law anymore.”
