“I remember you’re on your period. You shouldn’t strain yourself. Have some water.”

Bria looked at the cup in front of her, then at the concern in Shirley’s eyes. Her mind replayed everything Shirley had just said. But this time, instead of anger, a strange ache hit her chest.

It was unfamiliar. She frowned.

“What’s wrong?” Shirley asked.

Bria hesitated for two seconds, then suddenly knocked the cup away.

With a loud crash, it hit the floor and shattered.
