Chapter 793 Avoiding Her
The guy was named Jerry Sherman, and the girl was named Matilda Johnston.

Matilda’s gaze kept drifting toward Kaleb’s profile, her enthusiasm obvious as she interacted with him.
To Bria, it was incredibly irritating. Kaleb’s type was popular, that much she knew. It wasn’t about who was trying to take him. She just couldn’t stand seeing another woman standing so close to him.
It was pure possessiveness.
The emotion churned in her chest.
She’d already taken a hit with Shirley, and now, everything inside her surged even harder.
I knew it. Her plan got exposed too early, and it’s done zero damage to Kaleb. Otherwise, he wouldn’t be this focused on work right now.
Kaleb is the type who seems cold on the outside but is deeply emotional underneath. Finding out my intentions ahead of time should’ve hurt him at least a little, but the effect was weak.
If Kaleb isn’t hurting, how could I be satisfied?
I should’ve made him fall for me first, made him completely hooked, and only then stabbed him where it hurt.
Plans never go the way you want.
This time, the blade turned back on me.
Bria stood there watching for a long time, but Kaleb didn’t notice her.
It was Matilda who spotted her first and nudged Kaleb’s shoulder. Only then did he turn his head and look over through the glass.
Bria’s
eyes dropped to the spot where Matilda had touched his shoulder.
Damn it. I wish I could put some kind of barrier around him so no one else could get close.
Bria suppressed the cold in her gaze before finally meeting Kaleb’s eyes.
Kaleb frowned slightly, his expression flat and distant. He looked at her for a moment, then calmly looked away, as if telling Matilda something like “I don’t know her” or “She’s not important,” before continuing his interaction with Matilda and Jerry.

Bria saw it clearly. That look in his eyes… It was like he was looking at a complete stranger. No, worse. The faint disgust he hadn’t bothered to hide made it clear that, in his eyes, she wasn’t even worth that. More like something unpleasant he didn’t want near him.
That look cut into her.
Her hand clenched unconsciously.
Over the past few months, Kaleb had never looked at her like that.
Even just a few days ago, his gaze had been gentle.
Emmett could feel the tension between them, the chill radiating off Bria. The air felt suffocating. He didn’t even dare move.
That was just how it was with people like them.
When things were good, anyone around them was fine.
But when things turned bad, they didn’t sit down and talk it out like normal people.
Kaleb and Bria would only clash head–on, pushing until someone broke.
Carefully, Emmett glanced at Bria’s expression and said, “Maybe… maybe wait until he’s done, then we can…
Bria narrowed her eyes, pulling her gaze away. Seeing how uneasy Emmett looked, she glanced around.
This was Kaleb’s company. Causing a scene here on her first visit would be embarrassing.
After all, she’d come to see Kaleb under the pretense of explaining things, to make it seem like everything wasn’t what he thought.
She wanted to slowly regain his trust.
Starting a fight here wouldn’t work.
So Bria smiled lightly. “What are you scared of? I’m not crazy. I really do have something to ask him. I’ll wait.”
Emmett let out a breath of relief.
Bria forced herself to be patient and waited for Kaleb to finish.
At one point, a staff member came over to pour her some water.

Bria asked casually, “Where’s Mr. Keaton?”
The employee replied, “He went to see them off.”
Personally escorting them too? Bria’s hand tightened again.
Another half hour passed, and Kaleb still hadn’t shown up.
Instead, Emmett returned.
