The moment their eyes met, Kaleb was stunned. For a second, he thought all the times he’d been thinking about Bria lately had finally turned into hallucinations.
Just as he was about to get a clearer look, everything went black, and he lost consciousness.
Bria walked toward Kaleb step by step, then crouched in front of him, lowering her gaze as she carefully studied his face.
Kaleb had just come back from a business dinner, so he was still in his suit. With his build, he looked sharp in it.
Unconscious, Kaleb was completely quiet. He wouldn’t look at her with those cold eyes, and he wouldn’t say things she didn’t want to hear. He was completely defenseless, at her mercy.
Bria reached out and gently brushed her fingers across his face.
For the past two weeks, she’d been keeping tabs on him, getting updates on what he was doing every day. But seeing him in person now, it felt like it had been forever, and a faint sense of sadness crept in.
The corner of Bria’s lips twitched, like she was smiling, but there was mockery and disdain mixed in. She liked Kaleb; that much was true, but at the same time, she hated him too. Hated that he wouldn’t listen to her, hated that he wouldn’t just go along with her.
At least now he was in her hands. This was exactly what she wanted to see.
Bria had her bodyguard carry him onto the bed, and she followed slowly behind.
Half of Kaleb’s body lay on the bed, his lower legs still hanging off the edge. Bria stood at his feet, bent down, pulled his tie loose from his suit, and wrapped it around her hand.
One foot planted on the edge of the bed, she looked down at Kaleb from above, like a predator sizing up
its prey, her expression full of pressure and control.
Her grip on the tie tightened more and more. She really wanted to strangle him, but she couldn’t quite bring herself to do it.
Then she thought about what she was about to do next. For some reason, her resolve suddenly softened. Just like how Kaleb clearly made her angry, yet right now, she couldn’t bear to hurt him.
Kaleb really was lucky. She’d gone this far with her preparations, and still couldn’t follow through.

Bria had never cared about normal moral boundaries or shame. She hated being constrained by rules. Yet when it came to Kaleb, she hesitated.
Was she afraid of seeing the look in his eyes when he woke up?
Bria wasn’t sure.
Feelings were a terrifying thing. They could change how a person acted. Bria had never second- guessed herself like this before, especially not after getting 99% of the way there, only to falter at the last second.
The bodyguard asked if he should continue helping.
If she was going through with it, Kaleb had to be completely clean. There was no way Bria could carry a six–foot–two man to bathe him, so it had to be the bodyguard.
Bria had already made her decision. She loosened the tie wrapped around her hand and instructed, “Clean him up. Strip him, and put him on the bed.”
The bodyguard carried out the task without question.
way.
Bria sat on the couch, staring toward the bathroom. Her sudden hesitation wasn’t just guilt.
unclear Deep down, she didn’t want her first time with Kaleb to happen in such a messy, But she couldn’t just do nothing either. At the very least, she had to create the illusion, make Kaleb believe something had happened between them.
So in Kaleb’s eyes, their relationship would have already crossed that line.
At the end of the day, it wasn’t really fear or guilt. The plan itself hadn’t changed, it was just the difference between actually doing it and faking it. And the real reason behind that last–minute change was simple. She still cared about Kaleb.
Even with her questionable sense of morality, Bria was doing her best to preserve some dignity.
Because she valued their first time, she didn’t want it to happen in such a careless way.
