After saying that, Kaleb even took a step back.

Bria found teasing him way too fun. She’d never met a man as clean–cut as Kaleb, so she lunged at him again, full of energy, even jumping onto him.
Kaleb instinctively caught her, and Bria took the opportunity to plant a loud kiss on his cheek before finally saying, satisfied, “You can put me down now.”
Kaleb dropped her immediately, as if she’d burned him.
Bria straightened her clothes and headed to the bathroom. Before closing the door, she added, “Don’t run
off while I’m in there.”
Once the door shut, Kaleb frowned deeply and sat down on the couch. His face was expressionless, but anyone could tell something was weighing on his mind.
His arm rested on his leg as he stared at his dangling fingers, lost in thought.
Bria couldn’t keep him locked up forever. Right now, he was just playing along to stabilize her. The moment he got a chance, he would leave.
At this point, Kaleb was more eager than ever to get away from her.
Because he realized his heart was slipping out of his control, completely ignoring his reason.
When you spend enough time with someone, even as friends, feelings start to grow. And he hadn’t fully let go of Bria to begin with. Now, after being this close to her again, he could feel himself falling for her more and more.
He kept noticing the things about Bria that were oddly charming. Even her cruelty had a strange pull to it. If this kept going, he’d slowly forget all the things she’d said behind his back, how she’d mocked him with her friends.
That had been her plan all along. Numb him, then stab him in the back.
Kaleb knew exactly what she was trying to do, and yet he was still being led around by her. It made him question if something was wrong with his own mind.
So, leaving Bria had become urgent.
If she stopped clinging to him, he believed that in one or two months, he’d be able to forget her completely.
Now, it was harder, but not impossible.
With that thought, Kaleb felt a bit more grounded.
He let out a quiet breath and leaned back on the couch, waiting for Bria.
Half an hour later, the bathroom door opened, and Brias voice came out first. “Let’s go out today. You’re taking me shopping.”
Kaleb turned at the sound and saw her dressed in a casual outfit that matched his color scheme. He frowned slightly. “I’m heading back.”

“It’s just one day. Don’t tell me you can’t spare that much time. Who are you trying to fool? I know your schedule today.”
Since Bria had managed to block him at the hotel, Kaleb already knew she’d looked into his itinerary. It wasn’t surprising.
Bria continued, “Don’t be such a downer. You were patient enough to wait for me for half an hour, so clearly you don’t mind being around me. Going shopping together will be fun. Don’t you want that? Don’t ruin my mood. It’s really annoying.”
Kaleb looked at her and didn’t refuse again.
Back when Bria was still playing the good girl in front of him, they didn’t meet often, but they stayed in touch constantly. Chances like this, going out together, were rare.
She chose shopping partly to pass the time. There was no way they could just sit in the hotel staring at each other.
More importantly, it was a way to create shared memories. Shopping was easy and relaxed. If they saw something they liked, they could buy it and give it to each other.
Bria knew Kaleb was resisting her right now, but with her persistence, she could at least make him “have to stay by her side. As long as they had contact, she could slowly fix things.
A person’s feelings could change over time with enough interaction. Given enough time, hearts would shift.
Otherwise, why would people say feelings grow with time?
Bria had complete confidence in her own charm. Even if plenty of people hated her, she still drew attention. Even those who hated her couldn’t help but keep watching her.
So she wasn’t worried about Kaleb’s cold attitude right now. She just needed to make sure it didn’t ruin her good mood.
Luckily, Kaleb was still cooperating. Bria was in a pretty good mood.
They had breakfast together at the hotel before heading out.
Aqualith was a great city for wandering around. Bria had Kaleb take photos for her, grabbed coffee, and checked out different spots.
As long as it involved having fun, Bria never got bored. She was completely enjoying herself.
