Kaleb only overthought things when they truly mattered. He didn’t get caught up in the small stuff.

Bria really did have a wild imagination. There was definitely something extra thrilling about dating in secret behind the family’s back, and as for kissing they could do that right now

Kaleb said, “Lean over here a little closer.”

Bria caught his meaning instantly and leaned in toward him, and Kaleb planted a kiss on her cheek.

It made Bria feel all warm and fuzzy. “That’s it?”

“Yeah. What’s wrong with that?”

“Wow, what am I going to do with you? This just proves we haven’t kissed enough yet. A few more times and you’ll loosen right up.”

The second she said it, Bria leaned in and went straight for his lips and didn’t pull back, leaving hum wanting more until the server came in with the food.

The server walked in with no clue what had been going on, but Bra kept dropping hints only the two of them could decode. “So, was that a step up from last time?”

Kaleb shot a quick glance at the server. “Yeah.”

“Next time we’ll keep going, but it’s your turn to make the move. I can’t be the one doing all the work every single time.”

Bria was absolutely doing this on purpose, ramping up the teasing while the server was still in the room. Thankfully, by now Kaleb had heard it enough times that he was slowly getting used to it. He just ignored Bria and put his focus on the food.

Kaleb had already developed a habit of putting food on Bria’s plate without being asked whenever they ate together.
