Divorce Failed! My Wife's Secret Identities Shock the World novel Chapter 313

Maeve delivered the last slap like punctuation.

As Leah cried out, Maeve grabbed a fistful of her hair and yanked her head up, forcing her to look her in the eye.

"Well?" Maeve said, voice low and vicious. "How do you like it?"

Maeve hadn't held back once. After that many hits, Leah's face was already swelling grotesquely.

Daisy, watching from the side, didn't dare make a sound.

Maeve was one of Aethelburg University's most talked-about students now—everyone knew her name.

But she'd always kept her head down. She didn't pick fights, didn't act superior just because she was brilliant.

What Daisy was seeing today was something else entirely.

Watching Leah get wrecked, one thought drifted through Daisy's mind:

"Karma doesn't miss."

Leah was on the verge of losing it.

Her cheeks throbbed. Maeve's grip on her hair felt like it might peel her scalp right off.

She screamed at her friends, spitting fury. "What are you standing there for? Get over here and beat her!"

Maeve looked at them. "One at a time?" she asked, almost amused. "Or all together?"

None of Leah's followers had ever seen anything like this.

They backed away without thinking.

Maeve had shattered a heavy restroom door with one kick.

And she'd hit Leah without blinking.

Who would be stupid enough to step in?

Maeve tightened her hold on Leah's hair, forcing eye contact again.

"Now," she said, "let's talk about something else."

"You're so sure I'm being kept—where's your proof?"

Leah grit her teeth through the pain. "Let go of me first."

And the uglier Leah got, the more excited Maeve seemed.

"I love opponents like you," Maeve said softly.

"Go on. Keep talking."

"Let's see which gives out first—your mouth or my hand."

Every time Leah spat out a line, Maeve slapped her again.

Someone must have called for help, because a few teachers finally rushed in and managed—barely—to stop the violence.

Aethelburg University, Vice Principal's Office.

A man in his fifties with gold-rimmed glasses slammed his palm onto the desk.

"My daughter has been beaten into this condition. The school will give me an explanation—or we'll settle it in court."

It was Leah's father—the famous music mogul himself.

Tommy Ford.
