Chapter 121 Angry Nonsense

Chapter 121 Angry Nonsense

Ayla really didn’t understand why Draven never believed her.

It was like earlier, when he asked if she was upset because Troy was upset.

But the truth was simple. The more unhappy Troy was, the happier she felt.

Just like Ayla expected, Draven gave her that searching look again.

Ayla sighed and asked, “Mr. Storm, what will it take for you to believe me?”

Draven paused for two seconds. Then he said, “When you get the divorce

“Soon. Next Saturday.” Ayla smiled. “I can’t wait for that day.”

Draven lowered his eyes. His expression went dark. Martin’s words suddenly echoed in his mind.

If you meet a girl you like, don’t let her go.

But… is this really liking?

There was a glass of wine on the table. Draven drank it all in one shot to push down the irritation rising inside him.

Ayla also wanted to drink tonight. She was happy, and she wanted to celebrate. Her hand reached for a bottle, but Draven grabbed her wrist.

His fingers were firm, steady, and impossible to shake off.

Ayla startled and looked up straight into Draven’s deep, unreadable eyes.

For a second, his stare scared her. Then he let go.

“You’re driving,” he said. “So you can’t drink.”

Ayla was speechless.

“What? Are you upset now?” Draven asked when he saw a hint of disappointment on her face.

“No. I just wanted a drink,” Ayla said. “I’m happy today, so I wanted someone to celebrate with. And since you called me, it just kinda worked out. But it’s fine. Drinking or not doesn’t change my mood.”

Draven suddenly regretted what he said earlier.

“Mr. Storm, you drink then. If you want to head home, just tell me.” Ayla didn’t know why he wanted to drink alone. Some people liked crowds. Some liked being by themselves.

Draven filled his glass again, drank half, and set it down.

Then he stood. “Let’s go.”

The wine didn’t calm his irritation at all. Hearing Ayla’s explanation only made it worse.

So drinking didn’t matter.

Ayla got up right away with no complaints. She drove Draven home like a proper chauffeur.

She was honestly relieved he didn’t question her about slapping Bria twice.

Bria had been bullied horribly by Ayla today. Then she ran into Draven, too. With no way to fight back, she bought new clothes, changed, and then went with Renee to another bar.

She was furious and frustrated.

“Bria, you never told me Ayla had that kind of personality.”

Everything she knew about Ayla came from Bria. But what she saw today was the complete opposite.

Bria had already calmed down now.

She was still angry.

But being angry without thinking was pointless.

She was more curious than anything about this current situation. How did Ayla suddenly turn into this?

Did Troy really push her so far that she snapped?

Bria told Renee to stay quiet. Then she called Troy.

He didn’t pick up the first time. Or the second.

He finally answered on the third try. “Troy! Where are you? I want to see you,” Bria said,

Troy was at a café drinking tea. He’d been annoyed all day, and tea helped him stay calm. He was used to Bria acting cute, but right now, he had zero patience. “I’m busy,” he said flatly.

“Troy, why are you so cold? Aren’t you even going to ask what happened to me?”

Troy sighed. “Fine. What?”

“I… I got hit by Ayla!” Bria cried.

Troy’s lost patience suddenly snapped back into place. He tightened his grip on the phone. “You saw Ayla?”

Bria told the whole story and exaggerated every detail. “Troy, tell me-has Ayla gone crazy? She even said she slapped you! Oh my God, how could she ever dare hit you?”

Troy said nothing.

“And she said she doesn’t care about you anymore, so she’ll slap me whenever she wants!”

Bria was partly trying to test him, but saying it out loud made her angry again. “Troy, aren’t you going to do something? I’ve never been humiliated like this in my entire life!”
