Draven stepped out and almost ran straight into Ayla.

Winnie hadn’t expected him to stop so suddenly and bumped into him. She wasn’t wearing much, and now she was exposed.

Both Draven and Ayla froze.

Ayla glanced at Draven, then at Winnie, who looked gorgeous. Ayla found herself sneaking a few extra looks.

She’s coming out of Mr. Storm’s room.

So, he does like women!

Ayla acted like she hadn’t noticed and ran off.

Shawn rushed to help Winnie up and noticed Draven’s dark expression.

“Hey, she just bumped into you-she wasn’t trying anything.” Halfway through, Shawn noticed Ayla running off. It clicked.

“Winnie, go apologize to Mr. Storm.”

Winnie bowed politely and apologized.

Draven walked off, expression cold.

Shawn chased over. “You like the woman who ran off, huh? Worried she’ll misread things?”

“Not her,” Draven said flatly. “I just don’t like being touched.”

Shawn raised an eyebrow. “Uh-huh.”

Clearly, he didn’t buy it.

Draven didn’t bother to argue.

He swung by the mall, picked out a fresh outfit, and tossed the designer suit he’d only worn

once.

After dinner, he sent Shawn off.

He thought about stopping at a pharmacy, but remembering how Ayla had bolted, she was probably fine. He dropped the idea.

Back at the hotel, he bumped into Ayla again..

They got into the elevator together.

Ayla was still shaken from what she’d just witnessed. This version of Draven didn’t match the one she thought she knew.

She suddenly understood James.

Draven’s presence demanded respect. He didn’t care about romance or love, but just the slightest rumor linking him to someone sent hearts racing.

If he weren’t so distant, people wouldn’t be so curious.

Ayla had once been tangled in gossip about him. Now, the focus had shifted.

Of course, she wouldn’t spill like James did.

Draven studied her face, guessing she was cooking up a story in her head.

He pursed his lips, thinking about explaining.

But given his relationship with Ayla, it wasn’t necessary.

Still, his hand clenched at his side a few times.

Ayla glanced at him. He didn’t look great. Was he worried she’d gossip like James?

The elevator doors opened. They walked to their rooms.

Ayla finally decided to bring up the awkward topic.

“Mr. Storm.”

Draven paused and turned, clearly not in the mood.

“Relax. I’ll pretend like I didn’t see anything. I won’t tell anyone.”

She sounded sincere enough to swear an oath.

Draven’s expression dropped. A chill hit his face. His eyes went cold, sharp with offense.

He stayed silent, just turned, and slammed the door.

Ayla was startled.

So it really was about that.

Good thing she’d promised to keep quiet. If anyone found out, Draven would come for her first.

This trip was for the branch’s IPO.

They’d previously applied to the Securities Regulatory Commission for an A-share listing and got rejected. Later, they got approval to list overseas, passed the Aqualith Stock Exchange hearing, and were now about to go public.

Ayla had been running nonstop for days. Draven was also busy, but he thrived under pressure, working and socializing with energy. His back stayed straight, polished as ever, not a hint of tiredness.

He was the kind of guy who always delivered, full of energy.

His presence was magnetic, pulling in even strangers.

Between meetings, plenty of people tried to use work as a reason to ask Ayla about Draven’s love life or the type of woman he liked.
