Chapter 198 He’s My Boss!
Chapter 198 He’s My Boss!
Kaleb said, “I didn’t do anything.”
Ayla didn’t believe him and pulled up all the security footage on her phone.
Kaleb’s face stiffened right away. He thought about grabbing the phone, but soon figured it would be useless. She would see it sooner or later. So he simply admitted it. “I could tell that guy is not a good person. So what if I taught him a lesson? Also, you two live on the same floor. With a creepy guy like than next door, of course I’m going to worry about your safety. Since I’m here and I’m a man, scaring him a little is totally reasonable, right?”
The more Kaleb talked, the more righteous he felt. In his eyes, there was absolutely nothing wrong with what he did.
Ayla knew it wouldn’t be anything good when she heard Kaleb called him creepy. But the things said in the video were even worse. Her expression worsen as she watched.
Seeing her reaction. Kaleb got annoyed. “Why are you angry?”
She was mad at him over a creepy guy? Kaleb’s face went gloomy.
Ayla wished she could stab out her own eyes-no. cover her ears. What was all that about having a middle- schooled kid, being old, three marriages, and messy love life? Not to mention that part telling him to sty the hell away.
Every single word stepped right on her limits. It was completely outrageous!
Ayla felt faint. Hearing how Kaleb sound so self-righteous made her even angrier. She smacked his arm shocked and furious. “His name is Draven, the CEO of Storm Group, and he’s my boss”
Kaleb said. “Your boss? So what?”
That didn’t stop him from disliking the
guy.
Ayla took a deep breath, telling herself to calm down and repeating to herself that Kaleb was her own little brother, not some random person she picked up or an enemy. After brainwashing herself for a while. Ayla finally calmed down and started yelling at him, ‘So what?! You’re coming with me to apologize to him
now!
Kaleb noticed something. “Are you scared of him?*
Ayla kept scolding, “He’s my boss. I respect him and I expect you to respect him too!”
“I didn’t do anything wrong, Kaleb muttered.
Ayla shoved the video in his face and almost kicked him. “Do you think I’m deaf and couldn’t hear how filthy you insulted him?”
Kaleb’s intentions were simple-he just didn’t want her turning into a lovesick idiot again. But she didn’t seem to have feelings for Draven. She clearly only saw him as a boss.

But Kaleb was still upset. “So what if he’s your boss? The way you’re scared he’ll get mad, it’s too flattering. It looks like you’re groveling!”
Ayla didn’t need to please anyone. If anything, others should be the ones flattering her.
“This isn’t groveling. The problem is your attitude. Who insults a stranger like you did the first time they meet?”
“I didn’t do anything wrong,” Kaleb muttered again.
Kaleb noticed her worsening expression. He was full of confidence at first, but now he felt guilty.
Kaleb thought, Forget it. She just helped me out a lot, so I shouldn’t make her angry.
Kaleb reluctantly said, “Fine, fine! I was wrong for yelling at your boss without knowing the whole story. I’ll go apologize with you. Is that better?”
Ayla’s expression finally softened a bit. She smacked the back of his head. “You better behave.”
Kaleb was deeply annoyed.
Ayla went back to Draven’s door. The door was left slightly open. She knew he must have heard her knock earlier.
Draven was a germaphobe, so Ayla brought shoe covers in advance.
Kaleb saw this and snorted, “How is this not groveling?”
Ayla glared at him sharply.
Only then did Kaleb lazily put on the shoe covers. Ayla walked in first, then Kaleb stomped his covered feet twice outside before following.
Kaleb was only interested in Ayla’s apartment. He didn’t pay much attention to the decor of Draven’s place and just followed behind Ayla.
When Ayla stopped, he stopped too.
Draven was sitting on the couch watching TV. Ayla already knew that behind the strict, formal image, he was surprisingly casual in private-doing ordinary, lively things, nothing like the rigid CEO everyone assumed he was.
Ayla walked up to him. Only then did Draven finally turned his head. He looked at Ayla first, then at Kaleb
behind her.

Why is half of each of these chapters missing? The story sort of trails off in the middle of the chapter. That’s unfortunate....
