"Do you often run into situations like this during your business dinners?" Ayla asked.
"Too often," Halle replied. "No matter how well you do, there are always a few crazy people. You just get used to being annoyed."
Ayla's expression darkened.
"What are you planning to do?" Halle sensed a hint of something dangerous in her tone.
Ayla didn't want to see her upset. "If Rolf won't apologize, then let his father come and do it himself."
Halle blinked in disbelief. "How would that even work? Rolf doesn't take us seriously—why would his father?"
...
That evening, Rolf went to see Troy.
Howard and Skyla were also there.
Howard wanted revenge against a rival who drove their company to the brink. Unable to find the hacker who created Aqualith-style news, he settled for asking Skyla for help.
After evaluating the situation, Skyla knew her skills couldn't seriously damage the rival, but she could replicate the fake news.
Howard wasn't thrilled with the plan but didn't want to drag things out any longer.
So he teamed up with Skyla.
Skyla exposed the rival company's scandal, and their stock price fell today.
That was good news.
Howard came specifically to celebrate.
He was growing more and more fond of Skyla.
After finding out about all this, Rolf admired her even more—and was about to bring up what had happened with Ayla and Halle.
Suddenly, Conrad called.
Rolf was startled. His father rarely called at this hour.
He had a bad feeling and stepped outside to take the call.
The moment he answered, Conrad's furious voice blasted through the line. "Get over here right now!"
Rolf was stunned. "Dad, what's ... what's wrong?"
"Dare to ask what's wrong? You know exactly!" Conrad shouted. "If you're not here within half an hour, I'll make sure you regret it!"
Rolf stared at the ended call, dumbfounded, his brow tightly furrowed.
Lately, he'd been running the family's tech subsidiary, frequently exchanging information and resources with Troy and Skyla. He was working hard, and the only thing missing was knowing who developed LugiX.
Just yesterday, he was praised at home.
Even his eldest sister thought he was doing well.
What trouble could he have caused?

Why is half of each of these chapters missing? The story sort of trails off in the middle of the chapter. That’s unfortunate....
